Fantastic short tour of Kyoto. Really enjoyed the golden pavilion and nightingale floor.

Fantastic short tour of Kyoto. Really enjoyed the golden pavilion and nightingale floor.

Yu-me was a great guide. Lunch was nice. The 1 and 3/4 hour lunch break was a waste of time. Lunch was finished in 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour. This meant that people were sitting in the hotel lobby chairs falling asleep or walking to an overpriced souvenir shop, to fill in our time.

Very well organized! a great and fun way to get to know Kyoto :)

Doing what: Kyoto and Nara Day Trip from Kyoto including Nijo Castle

I was a little disappointed we couldn't visit the Imperial Palace (was a Saturday tour) and that the alternate sites weren't explained, because we visited one on our own beforehand. But the tour was still more informative than we found on our own.

Very good except we wanted to see the Imperial Palace.
Ralph.

Saw heaps of sights, very good organisation for time!

Excellent tour. Great value and plenty to see. Lunch was also very good. Full day recommended!

Our guide for our trip to Nara was fantastic. If you happen to get Mickey ( as he says, like Mickey Mouse ) you are in for the most informative and entertaining afternoon. He knows his stuff and is very enthusiastic about his country. Great tour.

It was a fun and interesting way to experience a part of Kyoto.

This tour would be a 5 star if the group size was smaller so you could hear the guide at all times. I suggest reading before the trip on each temple, so that if you aren't able to hear the guide you already know part of the history and you can wander off on your own and meet the tour back at the coach.

There are three aspects to this tour. First we had a guide who was very nice and spoke pretty good English, who took us through the market and the sake tasting. The cooking instructor spoke excellent English and did a great job of explaining the importance and significance of the cooking process.

The highlights of this tour included the Golden Pavilion and its gardens, and the Sanju-Sangendo Hall and its very impressive1001 wooden statues. The lowlight was lunch. It was poorly organised by the restaurant and the quality of food was poor, especially compared with that arranged for our Nikko National Park Tour from Tokyo a couple of days earlier.

I know a bit bout cooking and would have liked a more complex menu but members of put group were novices. Still I found the tour most rewarding And picked up many handy tips. Our guide was wonderful and the chef delightful. Very enjoyable.

The day tour was ok, the lunch break was a bit too long w almost 2 hours.
