Excellent value, especially for children and seniors. It was great to hop on and off transit, and to go to any museum without worrying about how long you stayed, or "getting your money's worth".
We purchased our Oslo passes on-line and went to the visitors center at Central Station to pick them up - so easy, especially since our hotel was across the street. Oslo pass made our visit so easy- we used it on the tram, bus and to get into several museums during our 2 day visit. Oslo is a very expensive city so I would highly recommend getting the Oslo pass if you plan to visit the city.
Well worth the money to purchase Viator as it was slightly cheaper and it was quick and easy to redeem the pass from the Tourist Information Center!
We planned to go fewer places, but we reached quite much. It was a pleasure to have Oslo pass and to see all beautiful museums on Bygdoy, those were especially interesting and gave to as the taste of vikings, as norwegians used to be. Norwegian Techical Museum is also a must to go for families with children which learnes life in very funny way. The view from Holmenkollen is good. The wiev from the top of Radisson SAS hotel is also beautiful. We visited also some fine free places, we looked outside Queen Castle, Akershus Castle, Vigelands parken. Last but not least weather happened to be sunny in the end of October.
I went to Oslo for the Sunday marathon and had only Saturday (24hr) to explorer. Oslo pass worked like a charm and I got to see the major tourist destinations in that short time. Had I more time, I would have bought the multi-day pass and explored Oslo and the regions surrounding it even more! I wish every major city had an 'Oslo" pass for the tourists!
Did the 72 hour tour . Had a great time in Oslo. Be prepared for very very high prices. $10. U.S. for a glass of beer. $35. For a hamburger and fries. The ticket is the greatest and to get around is simple too.
The Oslo pass made things a lot easier. I'd recommend one to anyone sight seeing for at least a day in Oslo.
Its real money saver if 1 has the days planned, start around 12pm + u spread the pass over 4 days. Peace of mind on transport as uv all paid. Excellent booklet that tells u all the bus/tram/metro no. to take + the actual stop. We hit a museum 2hrs after the pass ran out + the guide spotted our pass + let us in 4 free. 2 out/indoor pools/reptile park included that are fabulous 4 kids.
We divided the days into area - city attractions, cruise (only free on 72 hr pass) out to the bygdoy peninsula (museums here excellent, take bus 2 viking and then on to folks, cruise finishes very early so we got bus back to city), Vigelands/swim and finally munch museum/botanical gardens/swim. The Holmenkollen is open late so can pop out there in evening, metro 1 is closed so needs to take 1b bus from majorstuen (fab restaurant here called Billyabong where we ate once).
Oslo City is expensive for eating but there is a lovely pizza spot called JAF where pizza is eat-in approx. €13 with fab milkshakes.
All museums are fantastic and buggys available in some for your little ones if uv none urself. People are really helpful and oslo caters for the tourist.
Had breakfast included in our hotel (thon hotel astoria) and every morning used to make sandwiches/fruit/waffles + pop into bag + then only need get drinks/coffee and eat outside the attraction restaurant. Real money saver/plus save the hassle in lookin 4 somewhere 2 eat.
Could only recommend this safe amazing city.
