This tour was wonderful. After meeting at th assigned location, we were taken to the boat for our cruise. The boat trip was timed around dusk. The lights along the Seine had just cme on. people were everywhere waving as we passed. Around nine we could see the Eiffel Tower fireworks. After that, waa the bus tour of Paris. We passed all of the major tourist attractions.
Last, but not least, as the wonderful meal on Champs-Élysées. We took our time eating and people watched until midnight. The resturant staff was very accommodating.
The evening started off with a coach tour which was very informative and well organised. The Seine River Cruise was enjoyable too. The downfall of this excursion, however, was the dinner. One would expect much more from a 'Dinner on the Champs-Elysees'. The food served was of a very poor quality, in some cases hardly edible. It is a pity that such a poor ending to the excursion threw such a negative light on the whole excursion. Had it not been for the dinner, our rating of the excursion would have been much higher.
The trip on the Seine was nice. Joining the sight seeing group, who were just doing the Seine and then were out of there, was the down side. That cruise was crowded and rowdy. The night light tour of Paris was impressive and informative. The three-course dinner with wine at Chez Clement on the Champs-Elysees was the high point of the tour. The food was amazing and the atmosphere at Chez Clement was charming. The wine was very good and the desert was delightful.
We arrived in Paris late Friday afternoon and after settling into our hotel we walked to the Viator Office to meet the bus which took us to the boat dock near the Eiffel Tower. The audio on the boat pointed out all the important attractions along the Seine River for an hour and just as we were getting off the Eiffel Tower exploded into flashing lights; quite spectacular. Then it was on to the Tour Bus for an hour driving by all of the attractions with an audio commentator. We finished off at Chez Clement at 123 Champs Elysees for our very late dinner; we had a limited choice of their menu but it was fine. Being our first time in Paris it was a great way to hear about what there was to further explore in the days following.
We really enjoyed this tour especially dinner on the Champs-Élysées would highly recommend this.
Have done the hop-on hop-off bus in many cities and didn't have the same problems as in Paris. We waited at stops for more than an hour at a time only to have 3 buses come together. The big problem area is the Champs-de-Elysses (sp?). There were times we wanted to go to a stop past it but it took an hour to go up the street and back. We could have just walked across the road and saved the hour. The tour part was good but I would only use this for a tour and not for getting off and on.
Doing what: Paris City Hop-on Hop-off Tour
River cruise was good value, Paris illuminations was too early - there were no lights on as it was still daylight, and the dinner on the Champs-Elysees was very ordinary. Overall, a disappointing evening.
The Arc de Triomphe is a fabulous construction and far larger than we expected, well worth a visit to the top and look up Champs......
However, the tour guide was late and left many people wondering if they had the correct location....the rest of the tour did not fair much better as he spoke in one direction and did not communicate with the group on a couple of individuals, his storyline was lost on the majority of the group and we soon became disappointed with the guide but not the Arc.
What a wonderful way to initiate yourself with Paris!! Guillaume picked us up at our hotel and proceeded to expertly drive us through the streets, sights and back alleys of Paris running an informative and amusing commentary along the way. With the roof down it was a fun and novel way to see Paris and acclimatize with this vibrant city. And there is no other way to experience the champs Elysee than by driving round it!
We had a photo stop by the Eiffel tower where Guillaume happily took some photos of us and the car.
If you like your holiday experience to be a bit different than this is for you.
Doing what: Private Tour: 2CV Paris City Highlights Tour
This tour was very good and it gave us the cruise on the Seine which was very informative about the origins of the city and also details about the different palaces etc. However the meal on the Champs-Elysees was far to late, about 11pm, and I must say the meal was very average. So if I would advise someone I would say give the meal a miss.
Nothing better than seeing Paris by night. Great choice of restaurant on Champs Elysees.
The boat tour was great and dinner was terrific on the Champs-Elysees. The site seeing portion on the motor coach was just okay. It was not dark so there were no "illuminations" to speak of. This portion felt more like they were simply transferring us from the boat tour to the dinner and lasted about 30 minutes. Overall, ths was a great value!!
The drive through Paris in a double-decker bus with earphone narration was lacking in content. I expected a little history or story about each of the sights and was disappointed. It seems that the company should be able to do a better job with its presentation. The cruise boat was okay if you like being herded into a barge with 650 other people. It's too many people and too many languages. And again, my ear was stuck to an audio wand that needed updated information about what we were seeing. Dinner on the Champs-Elysees was nice, but we were left on our own to get back to our hotel. I don't mind taxi's but the description should point out you are on your own after dinner. It could make a difference to people.

The tour covers the inner city very well and the audio on the bus and boat are informative. The wait on the pier was very cold but this is a seasonal thing obviously. No problems in summer I presume. The final part which was the meal on Champs-Elysees could have been better. On a very cold night we dined in the glass fronted area of the restaurant . It was cold here and the main inner section which was warm and comfortable had plenty of free space.I would recommend this tour May to September for more comfort
This trip was well worth the money! I have been on tours before and this was right there. Excellent bus tour with various languages available, hitting numerous key sites, a long boat ride up and down the Seine picking up key sites with incredible views of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame in particular, and then a very nice meal that was all set up and ready to go at Chez Clement restaurant, one of my favorites on the Champs-Elysees. A colleague was with me from work on this trip and he too was very pleased with the helpfulness of the staff, the tour itself, and especially the dinner at the end. Great job!
