Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
This was more than I expected. It was great to skip the line. The experience of being in the catacombs and coming so close to the remains of so many people that lived before was humbling. Our guide was very knowledgeable, interesting and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone. It was one of the highlights of our two weeks in France.

Both my friend and I really enjoyed the Paris catacombs tour the guide was very engagaing with the group and knowlegable , (I had done a lot of prereading re the history around the catacombs ) we also visited the Monteparnasse Cemetery prior to the tour into the catacombs .It was good not having to join the long line of people awaiting to get into teh catacombs

Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
our tour guide was great....im sorry dont remember her name. The only way to see the catacombs.....she explained the history of the catacombs and why they are so amazing. The day we went was in March and it was snowing. There was at least a 2 hour wait for the general public to get inside. Buy a tour.....and save your time!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
Signing up for a tour is the only way to go. The lines are huge, but taking a tour got you in the door early, with a very knowledgeable and fun guide who had lots of stories, and the small group size ensured that you were able to see everything. If you want to see the catacombs, this is the only way to do it!

Doing what: Paris Ghost and Mystery Walking Tour
Very entertaining Tour Guide. Entertaining way of spending the evening before seeing the Catacombs the following day.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
I liked the small group and it was great to not have to wait in the long line to see the catacombs. The tour guide was professional, on time (she was there already even though we got there 20 min early), and had a pleasant attitude.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
This tour was really worth the money! Our guide was encyclopaedic in her knowledge, but interesting and friendly with it. I hadn't bargained on the scale of the catacombs or their history. My (reluctant) guests were also impressed. One was worried about claustrophobia, but found the catacombs to be spacious enough to be able to really enjoy the tour. I can thoroughly recommend this trip, although you may struggle if you have mobility issues (stairs at the beginning and end!). Tunnel paths are also quite slippery in places, so wear good footwear or you could end up crashing into stacks of bones!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Paris Catacombs Small-Group Tour
Connor, the tour guide, was not really up to the task. He told us that the last bones were sent to the Catacombs just after the French Revolution. When I saw a sign on the wall indicating that bones from a certain cemetery were placed there in 1859 he seemed surprised. And acknowledged, of course, that the sign was not a mistake. Actually there are many signs down there that announce bodies buried there in 1859. Connor needs to do some research and read all the inscriptions on the walls.
Connor also told us that the remains of Louis XVI were transferred to the Catacombs. I don't think so. I'm not sure Connor knows much about French history. When someone asked if the skulls of people were smaller back then he was unable to give an answer. Someone then suggested that perhaps some of the smaller skulls on view belonged to children. Connor is not on the ball. He should be better informed.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Paris Catacombs Small-Group Tour
The catacombs is a very interesting place but the whole experience could be made more of. Unfortunately our guide did not appear to be well informed. A guide is there to add colour and bring to life the place you are visiting. I'm afraid he seemed quite disinterested in the tour.

So glad I booked this tour.. There was a long line that we didn't have to wait on, and we got so much more information than we would have without our guide. Alberto was awesome! The catacombs have a really interesting history and Alberto was very knowledgable and easy to follow. Great experience!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Catacombs of Paris Small-Group Walking Tour
It was awesome! Tour guid was nice and very informative. 83 stairs down to the start of the tour and then another 83 back to the streets. Other than that little workout nothing challenging about the tour. I don't get grossed out but the pictures you see on the catacombs are really what they look like. There's no smell or anything though and they have a venalation system running through the tunnels. If you're going to Paris I say put this on your list of to dos!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Paris Catacombs Small-Group Tour
This was amazing! The guide was great, very funny and reallly knew his stuff. What an incredbile experience. I would caution once more that there are alot of stairs going into and exiting the Catacombs, and the floor can be a bit slick. Having recently broken my leg in a fall, I was worried about losing my footing, so I'm glad that he warned us in advance. I'm also glad that I didn't know when I booked this, because I might not have, and I wouldn't have wanted to miss the experience.

Great way to see the Catacombs. We didn't have to wait in line and our tour guide offered a lot of information that we wouldn't have known without her. I would recommend this.
