Doing what: Giverny and Versailles Small Group Day Trip from Paris

Versailles Palace is absolutely amazing! Visiting Monet's old town in Giverny was also a good experience. Our tour guide was very informative (you can really see his passionate about his job) and tried his best to squeeze bits of information as we drive from one site to another.

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

Weather was a little foggy in the early morning but go much better later which was great. Giverny is a nice little town and I enjoyed it. Actually was hoping that I had a little more time to explore the shops as well. Maybe I had higher expectations on the gardens, it was not as nice as I thought, maybe it was already autumn, past the flowers blooming time. Lunch was nice. Versailles was still as magnificent but felt that it is not as vibrant as it was 20 years ago when I last visited the place? Nonetheless I still enjoyed it. The audio system was not good as we had a hard time trying to understand what the guide was trying to share with us. It was also super crowded and it was so easy to lose the guide especially when we could not hear her properly. It was a shame as I am sure she is knowledgeable and would like to share as much as she can with us.

Doing what: Giverny and Versailles Small Group Day Trip from Paris

Another great tour from Viator and the small group (7) was just right.... Guide was very engaging, experienced, knowledgeable and organised - he also 'had a large family scattered around' (haha).
Giverny and Monet were just great, the countryside super. The lunch at the watermill was picturesque but lacked atmosphere and the food was just ok.... but Versaille made up for that with our guide getting us in quicksmart to maximise our stay.... just wonderful place - but you need a full day ....
All inall well worth the $$$ and more (once again!)... and the guide was the icing on the tour cake....(funny, I can never remember their names !!)...

Doing what: Giverny and Monet

This was a great half day tour - literally left the city and went straight to Giverny (took about an hour and a half). We had two hours there to explore the village and Monet's home and gardens. Then took us straight back - wonderful way to see the countryside and not too long of a day either.

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

I really enjoyed this day trip, especially Giverny. After spending so many days in the City, I fell in love with the country side. I would definitely recommend this day excursion.

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

A wonderful tour with Cityrama. The people inside the office were a bit harried and rude, but, once on the tour we found our guide to be informative and entertaining. A wonderful trip to Giverny, and a delicious lunch at Le Moulin de . Wish more time was allotted for Versailles, it was lovely to see and the gardens deserved at least an hour.

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

Giverny is lovely despite the crowds you share the day with. The gardens are just outstanding. The 3 course Lunch at the mill was lovely. Versailles is also very interesting, but the crowds do take away from it all. Waited a long time for our groups turn at entry. Not sure when would be a quiet time of the year to go to see these sorts of places. Winter maybe??

Got to see do/a lot in a short period of time, and that was what our aim was. But for the costs I am not sure it was fully worth it. Our guide was informative and helpful and gave us ample time to explore on our own, but she could have educated us more on both places. Ultimately both destinations were fully enjoyed by our group so our rating is probably weighted by the fact that we loved Giverny and Auvers sur Oise!

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

The trip to Giverny was the highlight of our 2 week Paris visit! We loved it. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and the house was charming. We all agreed that we could have spent the entire day there visiting the village and spending more time in the gardens. Versailles was crowded, shabby and we didn't have time to see anything of the gardens or the outbuildings, which I have always enjoyed on past trips. Next time, I'll look for a whole-day trip to both places.

Our guide was pleasant and informative, providing information about the towns we encountered on our way to Giverny, as well as taking an alternate route back to Paris to allow us the opportunity to see the beautiful countryside and stop once to take photos. Giverny itself is a lovely little village. The Monet property is not large and the multitude of visitors there the day we booked made the house hot and crowded. The gardens were spectacular in late May and did not disappoint.

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

The guide was excellent in both places. The garden in Giverny reminded of Monet´s paintings (absolutely fascinating). Lunch ok. Versailles was too crowded. In some rooms it was impossible to move and hear the guide´s talk. The bus was tidy and modern. The driver friendly and careful.

We had a fabulous time -- and our guide was wonderful. Full of personality. Giverny is such a romantic place. Monet's garden was breathtaking. I could have stayed a week there! Versailles on a rainy day is not ideal, but still a wonderful experience. The classical music playing throughout the gardens set such a magical tone. The interiors were impressive. All the staff was very helpful. And I could have spent a bucket full of money in the wonderful gift shop. And their prices are no higher than in regular shops as I compared some of the same jewellery pieces in another location in central Paris. If you are a romantic at heart, then I strongly recommend this tour. And this comes from a well seasoned professional traveller with pretty high standards and expectations!

Doing what: Versailles and Giverny Day Trip

Our guides, Adrien and Rogere were very good particularly since visits to both Versailles and Giverny in one day is a lot and both seemed to care about making the tour day good for everyone. Both places were very crowded even though it was only the beginning of April. The palace inside Versailles was like a too-crowded subway. It would have been nice to have a little more time at each since the visits were a little rushed but that was not the fault of the guides or Viator. Perhaps the tour day could be extended by 1 hr returning around 6.15-6.30 which would add just enough additional time in our opinion. A lot of people have raved about the lunch at the old mill. We found the lunch to be just ok, nothing special, there were no menu choices unlike all other lunches we have had on tours, and the service was adequate at best. This lunch was probably our least favorite of any tour lunch we've had. The tour bus was very nice and comfortable. Overall, the tour was as represented and we were satisfied. We were able to squeeze Versailles and Giverny into 1 day freeing up another day for other visits which is what we hoped to do by taking this tour.

Doing what: Giverny and Monet

Good excursion, nice new coaches and good guides. The only down side for me was that due to traffic we ended up with just over an hour at Giverny, which might not be enough for some people. Otherwise a great excursion and a wonderful place to visit.
