Doing what: Paris Food Walking Tour: Gourmet French Food

My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much. The presentation of the meats and cheeses in the small stores, and variety of fruit and vegetables in the markets was great. Our guide Alexandra was very knowledgeable on Paris and food and gave us some nice choices for places to eat and buy food to bring home.

Doing what: Paris Food Walking Tour: Gourmet French Food

The tour was an excellent way to see a part of Paris that you would not normally see. Alexandra was extremely familiar with the areas we visited. She was very nice and accommodating as one member of our group was in a wheelchair. We sampled many different types of food and learned alot about the region and it's people. She answered all of our questions and even made rode the "metro" with us to make sure we made it back to our starting point. There were only three of us on this tour which made it very intimate and personal. I would highly recommened this tour and any others that Alexandra conducts as we learned she does others as well. We were sorry that we did not sign up for those before we left the states.

Doing what: Moulin Rouge Show Paris

My wife and I attended the 11pm show. We enjoyed it for the most part. A couple of tongs to be aware of. First, you can line up for the show early and get better seats. When we arrived at 10:30, thre was already a line of several hundred people (we were told that the theater holds 900). We got OK seats in the third tier, but some people were stuck in the mezzanine and were not happy. Second, the show itself is a bit campy and a step below cirque de solie in Las Vegas. Lastly, there is a comedian who does a skit were he embarrasses Asian audience members. I found it offensive and I am not Asian. However it constitutes about 7 minutes of an otherwise entertaining show. I imagine, and hope, it will be cut before long due to audience complaints. I have read another review of the show by an Asian man and her was livid, so that part of the act may change soon. With all that said the ambiance of the Moulin Rouge was palpable even after 130 years since its heyday. It was a perfect end to a great day touring Paris. On a practice note, the ticket included a half-bottle of champaign. My wife and I asked to switch it to red wine and they did not have any problem with that request. In fact, we received a full bottle of red wine, so don't be afraid to ask for a replacement beverage.

Doing what: Bateaux Parisiens Dinner Cruise on the Seine

Beautiful boat, excellent service and food. Plenty of wine and Champagne which was great. Was a bit worried the entertainment would be OTT/cabaret style and overshadow the evening but the female singer fitted the evening perfectly. And all with amazing back drop of the river Seine and stunning monuments and architecture. This was definitely a major highlight of our visit and i can see why it's so popular. I also heard it is top of the list of things Parisiens themselves would like to do, which speaks volumes. Thank you Bateaux Parisien and Viator :0)

Doing what: Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

Wow, this tour was fantastic!! The history and beauty of the area were shown to us by a great tour guide. We not only tasted and enjoyed many chocolates and pastries, but received a wealth of knowledge about the food, ingredients, and Paris itself. This tour was well worth the money!! The guide also helped me find a taxi station at the end of the tour as I had to catch a train that evening. He was marvelous!! I'd recommend this tour to anyone who loves chocolate and carbs, and also anyone who wants an intimate view of Paris from an exceptional guide. I absolutely loved this tour. I would have liked a little more time in some of the shops that we visited to maybe purchase some things but I was very caught up w/ the excitement and deliciousness of it all and just didn't even think of it until after the tour :) I loved this tour!!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Musée d'Orsay Small-Group Walking Tour

The VERY BEST art guided tour we have ever done. Paul was excellent with the ability to relate and connect different works together from different artists. Had planned to go else after tour but stayed and had lunch in the restaurant and then spent the rest of the day back in the galleries. Probably our best day in Paris.

Doing what: Paris in One Day Sightseeing Tour

excellent day tour. wear good walking shoes. there were 2 tour offices close to each other and at the first staff member kindly walked us over since she was going by. The Louvre was very busy but saw all the important artwork and it was nice not to queue up. Took boat along Seine to Eiffel tower and although there were problems with elevators we did have lunch there. It was nice meal with glass of wine included. Back on the boat to Notre Dame and did have a line but moved fast. We wanted to go up to the top but it was too busy.
over all a good experience since we were in Paris for only a few days.

Doing what: Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

This tour was one of our highlights!! A lovely afternoon walk - not at all strenuous - stopping for bits of Paris history, as well as getting to sample delightful delicacies from local shops. It's been a week since our tour and I can still taste the cup of wonderfully smooth hot chocolate which ended our tour. My advice - jot a few notes as you go along, because before you know it - it all begins to run around in your head!! And if it tastes good, be ready to purchase it right then!

Doing what: Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan

We were lucky to be able to book a tour with Viator as we were trying to line up a wine or champagne tour the night before we went. Viator was very accommodating and stayed late at work to book us for the following morning which we greatly appreciated. Our tour guide, Fred, was fabulous and gave us a lot of interesting information on the ride to the vineyard. He even went out of his way to inquire about a building in Reims that he wasn't familar with and drove us by so we could see it. The tours of the 2 champagne wineries were very interesting, especially the one of the small local winery. The only non-positive comment we have is that the lunch was good, but not as great as we would have liked based on the cost of the trip. It was a wonderful way for my family to spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of Paris and we would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

Doing what: Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

This tour was one of the best I have ever taken, and I have taken a lot of tours throughout Europe with Viator in countless cities. This is a local tour where a Parisian expert walks you through St. Germain-des-Pres and introduces you to high-end chocolatiers as well as boulangeres. I had no idea we would sample as many items as we did and then discuss the various awards the owners had and how they differ from each other. This is no ordinary tour; it is quite extraordinary. Our guide, Myriam, was superb. Our entire group agreed she was an amazing teacher who knew her food and shared her expertise. All of us were so thrilled, every one in our group reached for tip money immediately following the tour and were pleased to give it to her. If you are a foodie or a person who just wants to learn the area and about how passionate the French are for quality ingredients, take this tour. It will be a highlight of your trip. It is also a wonderful way to peel back a layer into how the Parisians live. I can't say enough good about it.

Doing what: Moulin Rouge Show Paris

Quite the most visually dazzling show I ever saw. Everyone should see the Moulin Rouge show before they leave Paris. Get in line early for the best seats, everyone gets champagne. Getting a taxi home was a big problem, we had to wait an hour along with all the other people. The taxi drivers want you to wait across the street at that stand and ignore you if you wait at any other taxi stand, even if it is clearly marked. Some were quite rude.

Doing what: Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

What a great time we had! Alexandra guided us through several candy stores, bakeries, and pastry shops. We had samples from all of the places we visited, and were they good! I wish we had done this tour our first day in Paris rather than the second to last day, since we went back to some of the places we visited later that day and then again the day after. One place specialized in "macarons" and we each picked one---I had a "rose" macaron, and now, and this is completely true, I KNOW WHAT A ROSE TASTES LIKE. And it tastes unique and wonderful. I highly recommend this tour!

Doing what: Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan

The "Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan" was a lovely experience. The minivan was comfortable and the driver (Stan) was very carefull and polite. We visited a small champagne producer and were hosted by the granddaughter of the founder. There was a very interesting explanation about the process to make champagne and after that the tasting. We had lunch in another city (Eperny) and after that took the guided tour at Moet and Chandon. The experience of getting to know a small producer and one of the largest producers was very rich. For sure We will drink champagne with much more respect from now on!
