Doing what: Penang Island Discovery Morning Tour
The trip around the circumference of the island was a great way to get a sense of where things were in Penang. We wondered why we were taken to a very expensive German owned jewellery factory but realised later this is what wealthy Arabs like to see! We would have preferred a local silversmith, with affordable items.

Doing what: Penang Island Discovery Morning Tour
The tour was very good and covered some very interesting places on Penang Island. The snake temple is a must and make sure that you get your picture taken with the snakes. Tour guide was very informative and answered all questions. Definitely a good tour to start our stay with giving you a feel for what the island has to offer.

Doing what: Penang City Tour
We would highly recommend however having paid and receiving confirmation of our booking for a particular day we were advised on the morning of the scheduled tour that they "don't do this tour on Saturday or Sunday" and we were going the next day. Very disappointing in view of the fact that we had made other arrangements and had received confirmation. We then had to re-arrange all our other plans. I'm still a bit mystified as to why, all of a sudden, they don't do Saturday or Sunday.

Definitely worth doing at this guy takes you around the island and stops at certain spots. My Favourite was the snake temple, Had a photo taken with the huge snakes. The tour guide was asleep during the second half of the tour so he didnt talk at all

Doing what: Penang Island Discovery Morning Tour
This was worth doing and good value for money. Our guide was very informative and spoke excellent English and our driver was very good. The places we went were interesting and gave us a good feel for the Island and the culture. I think there should at least be a late morning tea stop as we didn't arrive back until after 2pm and we werent allowed any food on the bus.

Doing what: Penang City Tour
The private tour was an easy way to see parts of Penang we wouldn't otherwise see. As we had booked it for the afternoon of the day we arrived, our driver/tour guide did things in reverse order due to the outside temperature. Unfortunately this meant we started with a stop at a coffee and chocolate tasting centre, followed by a batik centre, followed by a pewter centre. All places whose sole purpose was to interest you in the manufacture in order to get you buy stuff. I was slightly concerned by this point that this was going to be the trend for the whole tour! Fortunately, after the pewter shop we headed to a road that had two large and beautiful temples, one on each side of the road. The first had a large reclining Buddha and many other smaller temples for you to look around. The temple on the other side of the road had a large standing Buddha and is also in the process of building a new shrine out back that you can contribute to if you are that way inclined. Try to wear shoes that can be quickly removed as you need to take them off for all temple entry. The driver left us to wander around the temples on our own and we headed back to him when we were ready. There was no feeling of being rushed, we could just take our time. The final bit of the tour was a visit to a jetty where the Chew Clan live. You get a quick glimpse of life living on the water. The driver went with us leading the way and pointed out bits and pieces as we went. A nice tour, but I'd prefer to change the shops to something more worthwhile!

Doing what: Penang Island Discovery Morning Tour
Hotel pick-up was on time and again the tour guide was very good. Tour was interesting and gives a sound overview of the island. Most suitable for first timers. Adequate photo shopping opportunities.

Doing what: Penang Night Tour from Georgetown with Malacca Strait Ferry Ride
The trip to the food court-hawkers market was great. The trishaw ride is around the colonial part of town which is pretty. It is a little short and seems to be over as soon as it starts. The free drink is in the revolving restaurant which is a bit kitsch and in need of a renovation. It is worth doing to give you a perspective of where things are in Georgetown.

Doing what: Penang Night Tour from Georgetown with Malacca Strait Ferry Ride
This was ok but nothing that you couldn't do yourself without the cost involved, apart from going up to the revolving restaurant. I think for the money, the dinner should be included and perhaps have a choice of traditional favourites. The rickshaw ride was very short.
