3 Days in Perth: Suggested Itineraries
Perth is a city with the sun turned up to ten. This stunning city on Australia's west coast, its modern central business district highlighted by a glamorous Indian Ocean backdrop, has shucked its sleepy reputation thanks to a resources boom. Perth is now humming with fantastic nightlife, galleries, restaurants and lush parks while maintaining that laid-back, beachside vibe.
Perth is a long way from Australia's other major cities – it's the world's most remote capital city and 2,750 miles (4,400 kilometers) from Sydney by road – so make the most of your time there with our suggested itinerary.
Day 1: Perth City Living
Start exploring the city of Perth by shopping in the glass-towered city center, meandering through leafy Kings Park and lunchtime dining in Northbridge or Leederville. A hop-on, hop-off bus tour is great for out-of-towners to get their bearings. In the afternoon, splash on the beaches of Cottesloe or Scarborough before an al fresco sunset dinner in the café-lined heritage port of Fremantle. Top it off by taking in the glittering waterfront views on a Perth City Lights Cruise.
Day 2: Swan into the Swan River Valley
Take it down a notch on Day Two and glide along on a Swan River Valley lunch cruise for the day. Western Australia is famed for its wine - enjoy complimentary wine tastings on a laid-back wine cruise, or combine your cruise with a trip to Perth Zoo. Prefer wildlife to wine? Spend the day on Rottnest Island instead. This is a favorite day trip for locals and you'll see why when you spot a quokka, the island's unique and extremely cute pint-sized wallabies.
Day 3: Day-tripping from Perth
Day trippers are spoiled for choice in Perth as it's the jumping-off point for so many exciting trips. Head southwest to the famous Margaret River wine region to indulge in WA's sumptuous gourmet lifestyle. See the exuberant dolphins at Monkey Mia and the eerie outback desert sculptures known as the Pinnacles or get refreshed at the waterfalls of John Forrest National Park.
Cruise was entertaining and relaxing. Food was great and wineries were wonderful. Would recommend this trip to anyone.

Continue Reading »Really enjoyable cruise would definitely recommend this cruise at the top of the wish list for anyone visiting perth. The crew aboard the cruise were professional but still had the warm friendly australian humour that engages the participants. The meal we had was alright but not up to the high standard that we experienced around the other eating places in Perth. All in all it was a fantastic day and we met some great people on the trip. Would definitely do it again!
