Phang Nga Bay is a classic Southeast Asian bay - bright jade water, limestone pinnacles and all. A large part of it has been protected as a national park.
Notable islands in Phang Nga Bay include the so-called James Bond Island (it's featured in The Man with the Golden Gun) and Koh Panyee, where you can visit a fishing community built out on stilts across the water. Bear in mind that this community is a Muslim one, so dress modestly.
You can take tours that will drop you at various beaches to swim and snorkel and take you to James Bond Island and Koh Panyee; you can also canoe.

Excellent trip. My wife was very sceptical about doing this trip as she was concerned about the kayaking. This was an excellent experience and we were well looked after both on the boat getting to Phang Nga Bay and when the kayaking began. The crew were great and the food onboard was also of a high standard. Other than alcohol all drinks were free as well.
You were allocated to 1 crew member who rowed your kayak and you just sat there admiring the views and observing the wildlife. We also went past James Bond island on the boat and took some photo's but you do not stop there on this trip.
I would recommend this trip to anyone as it is an experience I will always remember.
The tour was very good, it was very well organised, everything went smoothly. We liked everyting: James Bond Island, Gypsy Village, lunch and especially swimming at the bay at the end of it. We had to change boats several times during the tour and it was an added bonus. Definetelly recommend.

Everything was great about this trip: we were picked up on time, the tour guide was extremely friendly and beauty of the Andaman Sea and the world-famous Phi Phi Islands was unbelievable! I literally could'nt believe my eyes when I saw the most clear waters, the greenest rain forests and mysterious limestone formations everywhere we looked at! I need to say the tour was organized perfectly: first we arrived to Phi Phi and had enough time to swim and - for those who wanted - to go snorkeling. Then there was a lunch, quite nice, typical Thai food, the restaurant was simple but it was right on the beach and the views were wonderful! Then we were transferred back to the ferry and given a tour around the rest of Phi Phi Islands. I think there are 6 of them all together. Of course a ferry is not as fast as a speedboat and the attention of the stuff is not so personalized but it still is quite comfortable and almost two times cheaper than the speedboat tours. I took a speedboat tour to Krabi next day, it was certainly more detailed and I saw more of interesting attractions, but ferry is good too, I enjoyed it. We arrived back to Phuket on time as well, the driver was waiting for us and drove us back to the hotel. It was a great day!

Phang Nga Bay is in the Andaman Sea, between Phuket and the mainland of Southern Thailand. You can hire longtail boats from north Phuket, but probably the easiest way to reach it is on a tour.
