Day One: Phuket Tours

As well as visiting the Siam Safari elephant camp for elephant rides, you'll take a Thai cooking lesson and taste Thai jungle curry, see how rubber trees are tapped, watch how monkeys are trained to pick coconuts and go for a ride on a cart pulled by buffalo. Of course, a vacation in Phuket also means dipping your toe in that gorgeous blue water. Take the plunge on a trekking and rafting adventure, combining whitewater rafting and an elephant trek. Go for a rainforest canoe ride down the Sok River in the island's interior, or explore the mysterious tidal caves of Phang Nga Bay by canoe.

Day Three: Phuket Island Tours

Thailand's island province is surrounded by exquisite groups of islands, an easy day trip from Phuket. Ride a speedboat to Krabi, famous for its snorkeler's wonderland of limestone caves and white-sand beaches. Some say Koh Phi Phi is the region's most beautiful island group, so put it to the test on a speedboat tour from Phuket. If you'd rather sail more leisurely, ride a ferry to Phi Phi, with free time to swim, snorkel and soak up the sunshine. After spending free time on Phi Phi, take a more structured tour of Phang Nga Bay by speedboat, visiting grotto caves, enjoying lunch at a Sea Gypsy village and touring offshore islands for swimming and snorkeling.
