The tour was wonderful. The guide was super fun, lively, just thought we should have less time in San Gimignano and a little more in Pisa.
I traveled with my 80 year old mum to Florence and Pisa from Rome. The trip was very good, the guides were very clear and kind. The whole trip was perfect, on the first day the food in the restaurant was very good as well. I would have rated the trip as 5 stars, because everything was very good, however there was a lack of comunication when we arrived the hotel in florence, I did not know where to take the coach to go to Pisa the next day and nobody knew at the hotel, eventhough the guide told me that I was going to get my itinerary at the hotel. So I had to call Viator to get the information. Then when we came back from Pisa, I had to call again to know where to go the next day to go back to Rome. I would suggest that Viator should have prepared an itinerary and hand it to me on the first day, so I would know exactly what to do without stressing.
We had a fantastic day out. Chris was great and did everything he could to make our day memorable. The visits to Sienna, San Gimignano and Pisa were great and lunch was probably a highlight of the day. I would definitely recommend this trip as a great way to experience Tuscany
Very happy with CAF tours guides. We had a wonderful lady. Unfortunately it poured rain the whole time we were at Pisa, only the last 5 minutes before leaving did it fine up, but understandably the tour wouldn't stay another 1/2 hour for us all to get photos etc. :-( The weather's not their fault, only wish we could've visited on a fine day, then the tour would've been perfect.
One of the highlights of our trip to Italy! We took our daughter who was studying for a semester in Florence along and had a fantastic day. Stops in Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa were interesting and lunch with wine-tasting at the organic farm in Chianti was amazing. Views of the Tuscan countryside are spectacular! Our tour guide and the bus driver were great. Highly recommend this tour.
WOW - this was a great day. Our tour guide Stefan was funny and attentive. We met at the train terminal and boarded our bus starting out with a visit to Siena where we picked up a local guide. We then were off to a Winery where we had a tour of the small facility and enjoyed a wonderful lunch consisting of Pasta Bolognese, breads, 4 different wines, cheeses, salad and more. No limitations on the wine. From there we went to San Gimignano which was simply a shopping trip to a mid-evil village. Had some wonderful Gelato there. Finally off to Pisa where we visited the leaning tower and took the Cliche pictures. All in all it was a first class trip.
There was a little confusion at the start. Viator actually contracts with local tour providers. This particular tour was marketed under different names so we were not sure we were on the right one until we met a few others who had Viator coupons.
We decided to do this tour of Tuscany just before leaving Australia on our European vacation and we were not disappointed. The tour takes in the cities of Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa, which are all amazing places to visit in their own way and have so much to offer. Not to mention seeing the Leaning tower of Pisa which was incredible in real life. But the true highlight was the great lunch at an organic farm in Chianti with wine tasting and tour.
Sandra our guide truly brings to life your visit to Tuscany and does an excellent job of explaining the country side, what you are about to see, places of interest, where the public facilities are and much more. I have done many tours and Sandra kept the tour on track and there was never any doubt about what was coming next.
This tour is a must DO when you visit Florence so be sure to include it in your plans.
Our guide, Elisa, was very charming and knowledgable. Our driver gave a smooth, calm ride. 12 hours is a full day and we got our money's worth. It really made our atrip to Tuscany special. The only thing I wish our guide had done was to help ustake that "corny photo" of eveyone with the Leaning Tower in Pisa. that's always a good momento!
Siena is not to be missed. My favorite city by far. The church and the history are priceless! Our Siena guide Camilla was fantastic too!
The lunch and wine tasting were superb as was the venue and view! We were rained on in San Gimignano but it still was fine for shopping. The sun came out for Pisa and I'm so glad it did. Pisa was great! Loved our tour guide Becky! She was great!
The local guide at Pisa was very knowledgeable and gave a good account of the 3 buildings there (the baptistry, basilica and the bell tower). The tour also gave us an hour to wander around ourselves which was plenty of time to take silly photos with the leaning tower! The guide on the bus to and from Pisa gave some quick overviews of the sights to and from Florence but don't expect a comprehensive explanation in this regard. All in all highly recommended!!
Pisa and the leaning tower are a rare combination of must-see things that aren't that interesting after you see them. Definitely go and see, but don't expect too much. This tour was priced right for such fare. Our tour guide was only OK, not showing a lot of enthusiasm. But, as I intimated, there's not much in Pisa to get enthusiastic about.
Enjoyed Siena and Pisa, and the stop at the winery/farmhouse for lunch and wine was great.
The views were breathtaking. We met many interesting people, and we actually connected with one couple for dinner later on that night. San Gimignano-so so, lots of liquor stores and ceramics.
Not nearly enough time given. The guides were good, but we didn't arrive in Pisa until about 3:15, then there was a 10 minute walk to the main square. We were then given time to go and buy tickets to get in to the tower and then the tour of the cathedral began. By the time the tour finished we only had an hour of free time. If you climb the tower then there's no time left at all to shop and take some good photos, and definitely no time to leave the square and see some of the rest of Pisa. Wish I had got the train there myself and not used a tour
Simply Fabulous!!!! This is the best tour I've been on, hands down. Becky was the absolute greatest! She was a wealth of information and fun. Wish we could take her to Rome with us. You are at each site for just the right amount of time to get a flavor of Tuscany and Pisa. Wear your walking shoes! Viator did a fantastic job! Thanks.
