The tour guide is wonderful. He is very knowledgable and well experienced. We still enjoy the trip very much although the weather is not very good.
Great tour, informative guide.
My wife and I were really glad we booked the Portland and waterfalls tour. We would not have been able to see and cover as much on our own. Ron Davies, our tour Director, was great. He shared his knowledge about the area with us and did extra things to make the experience even better. This was our second Viator tour. We definitely hope to do more.
Excellent summary for a one day discovery of Portland and the wonderful Columbia River Gorge.
You don't have to be specially fit to enjoy the experience, nevertheless, You have many stops to take pictures and are not in car during hours. We have seen many and comptly different MUST in Portland.
Good experience even during a wet day.
Perfect introduce also for a longer stay , Our driver gave us many different advises about places to visit quietly (Excellent library, Chinese and Japanese gardens, excellent restaurant, bakery..) and so much more.
Perhaps one day, we vill have the opportunity to come back, this time a bit longer.
One hidden aspect of this tour is the small size of the groups. We were part of a 6 person group. I am not sure if they are all this size, but I got the feeling that it is set up this way for many of the tours. I felt I received a great overview of Portland. I also felt that I got to see some of the important waterfalls of the Columbia Gorge. Because of the size of the group our guide, Tom, was able to adjust to our interests and the weather. It was a bit wet, but not less enjoyable.
The weather was terrible for most of the trip, but the scenery and level of information from our guide Tom meant that it didn't really matter. Multnomah Falls are breathtaking, as was the view from the Pittock Mansion and the Rose Garden.
This was my first time ever visiting Portland and this bike tour was my lifesaver! Traveling around was so much easier because the bike tour was very comprehensive and helped me get an idea of where I was and how to get where I wanted to go as I explored the city after my tour. Our tour guide, Melanie, was very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions regarding not only the history of the town, but give tips on fave places, unique fun facts, and was attentive to the requests of our tour group. If you plan on exploring Downtown Portland for the day, I highly suggest doing the morning bike tour first, and then plan the rest of your day after getting a better idea of the city layout.
Doing what: Downtown Portland Bike Tour
Our guide Dylan knew the city inside and out and made sure that we saw everything. Dylan was very friendly , informative , and a lot of fun. This was an excellent way to get introduced to Portland on all levels, Cultural, Historical, and even Scientific (Dylan was knowledgeable about the local wildlife, and geological characteristics of the area) . I would recommend this tour, especially as a first thing to do when arriving in the area as it would give a great introduction of the city.

Morning was pretty good, but spent most of the time in the car. afternoon was better
This was a great tour of Portland, Oregon. My guide was very knowledgeable and he explained a lot about Portland on the city tour morning half. We went to two mansions and the international rose test center and he explained a lot about how the town was formed and the people who contributed to Portland's development. He also gave restaurant recommendations and a good overview of the city in general. The drawback was on the city tour there were a lot of people...probably too many for the van we were driving around in. Several passengers complained about the cramped conditions (which I admit was a problem) and their inability to hear the guide when we were driving around and providing commentary. The van probably needed back speakers so the guide could be heard better. After a stop for lunch, the tour really took off and we headed toward the Columbia Gorge Waterfalls. Only about four of us were on this part of the tour, so it made it easier for the tour guide to provide his great commentary and take us to some of the best spots. The only problem was the Waterfalls were extremely crowded and one time we lost track of the guide. However, this was brief and after finding him, he took us to some areas of the Waterfalls that were fantastic to see and lightly trafficked. Overall, a great orientation tour of Portland, Oregon and the Waterfalls. I highly recommend it. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
This was the last city on our "bucket list" in the U.S. We had a fantastic tour guide, Rich, (who was on time to meet us) and was very personable and knowledgeable about Portland and the falls. We even went to a "secret falls" he had found, but will not tell! All the sites were provided with ample time to visit everything. Lunch time was provided near the food carts, if you wished or Starbucks is up the street one block. We had no idea we would see so much, as we had a lot on our list and this tour covers everything. Rich covered all the historical factors and made the tour very interesting. The people on our tour were also very friendly and it was interesting learning about where they came from. Thank you, Rich, for making our stay in Portland as memorable one.
We always book through Viator, as they are always dependable and you get what the tour states
Left at food carts for 2 hrs while he picked Up more people could not sit with family when he got back as 3 rows of seats and a member in each row. And daughter had to sit with 2 men, in back of van...was not impressed
We weren't able to utilize the hop-on/off portion too much, but the gorge tour was well worth the price! Our guide was a lot of fun!
This was a great introduction to the city and its different neighborhoods (districts). Our guide was very informative. Because there were only 3 of us, it was easy to converse and ask questions. It was also nice to be picked up at our hotel.
