Looking out at the valley from one of our stops on the tour.
This is the set-up of the last part of the tour.
Get up close and personal with the soil, grapes, vineyards...If you're a wine fanatic like myself, you'll love this part. I went in March and they were kind of bare, but I can only imagine how this will look right before harvest time!
This is just one of the many great parts of the tour...Very relaxing 1 hour cruise down the river.
You'll cruise down the Douro in a charming wooden boat...
The scenery is just breathtaking...Lush landscapes, wine terraces, the green river...Beautiful!
Douro River Valley Tour in December.
Not sure if the train station is included on each tour, but we had time to stop here where our guide explained to us the history of the 24 tile scenes around the station. The train station is considered to be a national heritage site and offers great insights in to the culture of the region.
This winery was the 'Plan B'. I'm not sure what Plan A entailed but I figured this was pretty fantastic for a back up plan. Photograph is from their back porch. We toured this facility and sampled 3-4 of their ports towards the end of the day.
