Very nice tour. Very good guide. The lunch was not very good.
Doing what: Day Trip to Douro
Interesting tour of Porto. The visit to the winery was particularly good.
Doing what: Panoramic Porto Tour
Had a fabulous day out in the Douro Valley with this tour. All of the logistics were so easy, getting picked up at our hotel and taken care of for the rest of the day. Our guide Pedro made the day, we felt safe with his driving through the winding roads towards the valley, especially in the tricky weather conditions we had in the morning before the sun came out. He was kind, funny and went the extra mile (literally) to show us the best of the valley and the best tasting experiences. He went above and beyond, he truly cares about his country and the region and that comes across. Highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to get out of the city for a day and see the surrounding beauty of the region.....while tasting and learning about the great Port produced here.
One of the best hop-on hop-off tours. Easy to plan on switching from one route to the other. Very enjoyable!
Pedro was an excellent guide! He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and brought us to some wonderful places! Quinta da Foz was a beautiful winery and the guide there was also wonderful. The boat ride is beautiful, and the drive in is extremely scenic. Great food included, and wonderful port all day long. Couldn't recommend this trip highly enough!
It was a great tour in the beautiful city of Porto. Sebastian is a good guide and explain all the history of the monuments very well. I recommend this tour.
Doing what: Panoramic Porto Tour
We had one day in the North of Portugal and really wanted to tour the Douro Valley. Cooltours was recommended on-line so we booked a tour. We toured in early Nov 2013 which is not the best time for weather. Pedro came to pick us up at our hotel - and from start to days end he gave us the most memorable day of our whole trip. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about Portuguese history and the history of the Douro Valley and its wine and Port. He answered endless questions and was eager to share the true authentic Portuguese experience with us. We did the boat on the Douro river - highly recommended as it gets you up close and personal with the vineyard landscaping and deeper feeling for the Valley from the river's perspective. Lunch was delicious and we were treated like queens and we were lucky enough to be able to try many Portuguese dishes accompanied by Muscat, Portuguese wines(best kept secret) and of course the Port. The end of the day was capped off with a personalized tour of a Quinta. Our experience on this tour was definitely due to Pedro and his friendly personality, humor and his eagerness to provide his guests with the best Portuguese experience so that the tourist leaves with an experience beyond their expectations resulting in only one problem: it fills you with the desire to return to the Douro Valley:) Thank you Pedro!!! Well organized tour with a very knowledgable and kind tour guide whose name is Paula. . We have seen all the destinations that we would like to see around the area. We also enjoyed very much of the boat trip and the delicious food at the local restaurant of Douro region. Winery that we have visited was very traditional and well guided. We are very appreciate to take this tour.
Guide was very energetic and knowledgeable. Very informative and enjoyable tour of the city.

I had wanted to see Santiago de Compostela for years, and was not disappointed. Our tour arrived in time for the Pilgrim Mass, but as it was a Sunday, the cathedral was full to overflowing. Even pilgrims had to queue outside! I was lucky enough to reach the door just as the giant censer (the biggest in the world, at 80 kg!) started its swing. Then a tenor sang Schubert's Ave Maria. What atmosphere! My day was made!
We had a really great time on this tour - we loved Pedro who spent every minute of 11 hours doing everything possible to make our trip fun and special - from picking us up at our apartment to driving superbly on narrow, winding roads, stopping for "port" stops, waiting on us at lunch....boat ride, visits to port cellars, lunch, wine, port again....all fantastic and included in the modest price. And the Douru valley itself was spectacular. Really a great tour and well worth it, to say the least!
My wife and I went on the Douro Valley Small-Group Tour and enjoyed it very much. This was one of the best tours we have been on. The content and itinerary for this one day tour was well planned and included site seeing, a boat trip, lunch and a wine quinta visit with wine tasting. The tour was made even better by our guide, Pedro. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel very comfortable and at home during the tour. On top of that Pedro was punctual and drove very carefully and safely which we really appreciated. Many thanks to Pedro for an excellent day and a job well done. We would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was fabulous, I would highly recommend it to anyone. Our driver Pedro picked us up at our hotel, on time and we were on our way to an amazing adventure. I had read reviews about the driving of some of the tour guides and how scary it was. Our driver Pedro was very cautious and the 4 of us never felt worried about our safety. He did an amazing job sharing the Douro Valley with us. We had a private tasting at a Vineyard that was over 100 years old. He stopped frequently to show us views of the country, specialty shops, points of interest and picture taking. We thoroughly enjoyed a boat trip down the Douro River and lunch was included at a local restaurant that sits right on the river. We just returned home and brought back with us so many beautiful pictures and memories of our day spent with Pedro in the Douro Valley. I give this tour 6 Stars!!!
Tour over 2 days was great value and covered a huge amount of sights and places to visit. Particularly enjoyed crossing the river and the Port Caves tour with tastings which was included. Also, the chance to walk out to the lighthouse on the Atlantic where the river meets the ocean. Fish markets interesting! Loved the Fado soundtrack in between well-spoken tour commentary.
If this is your only chance to see a Fado performance, it would be worthwhile. There is a good dinner included, and a brief tour of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, the town across the river, before the show begins.
