Visiting Prague in Winter
Prague is at its most beautiful in winter; the Czech Republic’s romantic capital city is strung with fairy lights and looks magical under its coating of snow. Hotel rates come down and the crowds are thinner. Wrap up warmly as temperatures can descend to 20°C below freezing, but usually the weather is bright and skies are blue.

1. Shopping
The build up to Christmas sees Old Town Square transformed into a Christmas market, strewn with wooden chalets selling Bohemian crystal, puppets, and amber or garnet jewelry. After New Year the sales hit, with bargains in the designer boutiques along Pařížská Street and the souvenir stores on Na Příkopě Street.
