Cabarete is a great place to vacation. They have windsurifng, surfing and kiteboarding schools everywhere. Also the people are super friendly and it's very easy to integrate yourself into the culture here. Vela school to windsurf, LEK to kite and 321takeoff to surf are the main spots to learn or rent from. If you make it to Cabarete make sure to visit one of the three. Also they have some pretty good Chinese food as well as natural shakes that they sell on the strip.
