tour guide was very informative. no BBq after May 1. had buffet lunch on the boat - was ok, but crowded. long distance(about 200 km) in the bus riding to the sound.
Very long long bus ride, 4.5 hours per way.. the scenery was awesome though and probably worth it on they way there as they do a lot of photo stops at very nice places.. but the return journey was just a 4.5hr dash back to queenstown..
Would be better to do the tour from te anau which is only 2hr away.. or take the helicopter/plane ride back to queenstown but needs minimum numbers and quite expensive
Our tour on the BBQ BUS to Milford Sound was FANTASTIC! Milford Sound is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen -- just amazing. Although it is a long ride there and back, Nigel made it so very interesting with his commentary and history of the area we passed through. The scenery traveling to Milford Sound is very beautiful, so the time passes fairly quickly. THE BBQ lunch was the best -- great food at a great spot by a glacier fed stream. A Maori dvd/movie on the bus back made the trip seem shorted than expected. Overall, a fantastic day! Highly recommend to everyone!
Justin was our coach driver and his knowledge of the area is excellent. He consistently amazed us. He is also a very friendly, helpful guide.
The 'BBQ Bus' tour company this trip is with was superb - really friendly and helpful! There was only 6 of us on my trip which meant the atmosphere was great. This is the best way to see Milford Sound instead of a big coach tour company
The driver built up our expectations far too much
One of the best days out the trip was faultless although raining it did not spoil our trip bbq the best the cook was very good Chris was wonderful made the day all people got on well would recommend the trip to every one although told people over there about your company no person had seen any thing about the company which is a shame Janice
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The lunch selection was great. The trip went smoothly and we really enjoyed the scenery.
This trip is highly recommended. We had a wonderful day and Chris, our driver/chef/narrator was great fun and very knowlegable. The cruise on the Fjord was unforgettable, especially when the captain takes the boat right in under the waterfall. A wonderful day out and very good value for money.
The trip to Milford Sound from Queenstown was a long one, but there were several stops along the way to see some beautiful sights. The boat ride on Milford Sound was stunning, and the weather cooperated with beautiful, blue skies. A highlight (of many we experienced) on our NZ holiday.
Beautiful scenery all around...saw fur seals and a waterfall...it was an awesome day out too! Would highly recommend this day trip. I found the bus there and back comfy and enjoyable as well but you can take a helicopter or short flight back for additional funds.
We considered we were really lucky because the 13 people on the bus belonged to the one group. We had a great day with a great guide. It was all very easy. He picked us up on time and was totally amenable the whole time.
A terrific way to spend your birthday! Our guide, "The BIg D" was great fun and very knowledgable and the scenery was breathtaking.
Well organised, nice day out. The sound is very beautiful and the drive there was very nice too. I'm glad we got to experience it. I had thoughts of driving there from Queenstown but so glad I didn't. There is so much to see in New Zealand and if you are lucky to get a sunny day then Milford Sound would be a delight.
Excelent, from the begining to the end everything was well organized and perfect, with a lot of opportunities to take pictures.
