Comment from Philippa Burne
Locals in Iceland like to meet for a coffee and a chat. They also don’t mind having a drink or two in an evening. Hence, the center of Reykjavik is well supplied with cafes and bars. The main shopping street is Laugavegur and you can’t go very far without hitting one of the excellent, usually quirky cafes or bars.

This is not a review as such, however I am wanting to visit this fascinating city this year and one of the highlights for me would be to visit a single hulled ship on a and quot;beach and quot; somewhere near Reykjavic. It is a really imposing structure and I have no idea exactly where it is or where I should book in order to see it. The hull is rusted and has interesting colours and I would love to know more of its history.
If you could shed some light on my query, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks you. Jan
