Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

The trip was awesome. I have never seen so many castles! The staff was accomodating and food was good. Made some new friends and would definately recommend it.

Would like to recommend that you advertise that the best seats can be reserved. All of the window seats in the front of the boat were reserved. I didn't know that was an option. We arrived early to get good seats. Fortunately the weather was not so bad that we spent most of our time on top deck.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

It was a great trip. The views were spectacular and there were plenty of castles to see. We stopped at Bacharach and had a very fine lunch. The town was like something out of the 17th century. It was the highlight of my European trip. Very much recommended.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

We boarded at Rudesheim (where we had stayed the night before). The boat left at 9:15 AM, and went up the Rhine River to Koblenz arriving a little after 1 pm. We were told there that the return boat to Rudesheim left at 2 pm and would arrive at 8 PM! The ride was 4 hours one way, and then 6 hours back! So, we had to incur the expense of a bus and then a train from Koblenz to Rudesheim. An extra expense that we weren't expecting.
The boat ride was really nice though. Really nice!

I would only suggest that you go part of the way to Koblenz (maybe to Bacharach) and then return from there to your starting point at an earlier hour than 8.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

We used the pass to travel from Mainz to Cologne. It was a cheap and scenic way to get from one place to another. Got the Rhine river cruise, which is magic, with a ride from point A to point B for 30euros. It's an 11 hour journey but worth it.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

We very much enjoyed our Rhine trip, the morning was very cool but could enjoy from inside just fine. We would recommend this to anyone, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We took the train back to Mainz from Koblenz getting off in a couple small towns on the way.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

We stayed overnight in Mainz and started our Rhine cruise from there. I would suggest that Viator let those who have booked know the street intersection where one must enter the dock area, as well as providing a bird's eye view map. If we had traveled by bus, instead of by taxi, I have no doubt we would have missed the departure time. However, we had an experienced cabbie, who got us there with a half-hour to spare. Keep in mind, Viator, that lots of your guests have never before done this activity. That said, here is the good part: Boarding was very good, no hassles. Finding a nice view from the boat was easy, there are lots of very good seats from which to view the river and sights, both inside the boat and out on the deck. There were a lot more castles than I thought we would see - many, many nice towns and lots of castles. I was very happy with the rate of speed, the food on board, the announcements of the castles, the crew, the restrooms, the chairs and indoor seats. I would highly recommend this tour. The price is a VERY good value. We saw a lot and had a good time. We disembarked in Koblenz (could have used directions to the rail station) and had a good walk through the town. I am very glad that we chose this Viator tour.

Our Rhine cruise on the K-D Lorelei boat departed Mainz at 8:45 am . Our voucher had to be exchanged for tickets at the ticket office-which was at the boat dock.
We cruised from Mainz to Koblenz--where the Rhine and Mosel Rivers meet (arrival 2pm).
Visited the Ludwig Museum and the King Wilhelm statue--We returned to Mainz by train-arrival around 4:30pm.
The cruise was excellent--There was some English narration of what you were viewing from the boat.
The breakfast on the boat was very good--

It was a wonderful experience to see the castles and relax at the same time. However, it was somewhat of boring for my teenage daughter. I just hope that the boat's schedule would have allowed more hop-on/hop-off stops to explore the passing towns. I still would recommend the trip, especially for someone who likes history.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Koblenz

Great Day cruising down the Rhine, we had chosen this option instead of rail to our next destination, Bacharach. Relaxing with plenty of seating to chose from, very panoramic. Recommend this when travelling from Koblenz to next accommodation. All vouchers accepted without question. Booking in advance is a good idea as these trips are very popular.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

I took the cruise by myself since I was traveling solo, so this might be why I found it a little long at 4 hours. Two hours would've been enough. The weather was mostly cloudy and cool, making it cold to be out on deck in the open air and not great lighting for photos Lot of cigarette smokers, as well, which was unpleasant for a non-smoker. Inside in the middle deck would've been nice and cozy if traveling with a partner; try to get near the big section of windows near the bow of the ship.

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Mainz

We booked this trip on a beautiful hot day in July. We left from Mainz. The sight seeing was amazing! The boat was very comfortable with good food and bathrooms. When we got on the boat we told the guy taking the ticket that we needed to be back in Mainz and he told us the stop we needed to get off on which was right around lunch time. We had two hours to browse and then boarded the boat for the return voyage. I would love to do it again and buy three or four days passes as several of the stops would be great to overnight at. Definitely recommend it!

Doing what: KD Rhine Pass from Koblenz

Koblenz is an interesting City in an exceptional situation with the two rivers and a cable car ride to enjoy as well as a good base to take advantage of the many cruise boats.
