This was a fairly nice trip. Interesting information was passed onto us. The tour guide and older gentleman was accomodating. He tried his best to keep us informed. The small bus was very good and comfortable with a safe driver. The supper was fair the lady at the wine tasting really tried to sell us wine - I think one individual made a purchase. I would recommend this trip to anyone else it was a good afternoon out along the Rhione with my wife and daughter. Thank you!
KD provided me an unforgettable experience on Rhine Cruise with the most cost-effective service. If I were given a second chance, I will also be eager to choose KD.
The tour was very good. We saw some amazing countryside. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was excellent. Food quality was great and their decor amazing. The boat tour was excellent and the views of castles and the countryside were amazing. All in all an excellent tour.
The Nostalgic Route uses the historic paddle boat "Goethe". The boat is beautifully renovated and very comfortable. The stops were exactly on time and everything was visible through the boat windows. The upriver trip culminates with an hour-long stop over in Ruedesheim, where you can buy great locally produced wines. However, we were scolded for opening our bottle back on the boat. All of the seats on the boat are at tables serviced by waiters. I wish it had been more clear that brown-bagging was frowned upon, or, even better, to have some parts of the boat where it is allowed.
The trip was on our 40th wedding anniversary, and perfect in every way. Staff congenial and helpful. We had read the blog sites, no one recommended the 11 hour round trip so we also left the boat downstream and took train back to Koblenz. Loved it, memory of a lifetime.
Had an excellent 1/2 day tour. Very informative. Dinner, to be fair was somewhat over rated however was what we were expecting. Met some interesting people.
An enjoyable day. I was not aware this is a combo tour where we returned to Frankfurt before continuing on to the Rhine. This wastes too much time and resuted in rushed Rhine Cruise the result of people arriving late for the second tour.
We really had a great time on this trip. Our tour guide was very informative and quite funny. The trip was organised and even though some of the tourist were late, our tour guide managed to make sure that we get to our destination on time. The only thing that I would say was a let down was the sandwich for lunch. I think this needs improving.
The chair lift was a surprise - very fun!! Great view of all the countryside and the river before the cruise begun. The river cruise was relaxing and enjoyable - great way to see all the castles and hear the history of this countryside - great photo opportunities. The lunch was delicious. Just one warning - drinks are not included and they are expensive!! The wine tasting was the only detraction from this adventure as it was more of a sales pitch and the speaker was offensive. Our driver - wish I could remember his name - was just wonderful - funny and infomative - made the drive very intersting. Overall it was a 5 - need to delete the wine tasting!!
I would not recommend this tour. Despite river boat tours operating we were not taken on one since its not seasonal. Nothing was picturesque and everthing was closed. We were returned to Frankfurt an hour early- basically sitting on a bus the entire day. The resteraunt was terrible and drinks are not included, 5 Euro for a coke is a bit much. No one on our our ate anything - it was a piece of chicken with greasy French fried and a plop of ketchup on the plate. The waitress was rude and snubbed our whole table. The wine tasting was a joke. They poured sips of wine in plastic containers and advised that the best prices were available there. Ice wine was 40 Euro a bottle at the tasting and 22 Euro at the airport for the same bottle- don't be fooled. The only redeeming quality of the tour was our driver. He was kind and knowledgeable- but during the winter months did not have much to work with. We did see a castle- but that was only 45 minutes of the day. The castle tour was in full German- so if you cannot undertsand German- you won't understand a thing. You are better off renting a car and driving down the Rhine .
Very nice, despite of cold weather, I enjoyed the whole trip. Wish the bus driver wasn't on cell phone constantly. I am sure he is an experienced driver but.
Excellent - long day but well worth it - very good guide - annoyed at pressure on people to buy wines at wine tasting
the website mentioned that full day trip includes lunch and dinner. However, only lunch is provided. no dinner, which i find that not much difference from the itinerary of the half day tour, which is cheaper
This was a fun, relaxing trip down the Rhine. We saw a castle almost every 5 minutes! Stunning views of the countryside!
