Lunch and the forced wine tasting left a bad taste in our mouths!Otherwise it was an enjoyable time on the Rhine and its surrounds.

Bus departure delayed by over 30min due to late return of the bus being utilised for the morning tour for Heidelburg - poor organisation and appears to be a common situation having experienced delays personally on the Heidleburg trip ourselves the following day.
Dinner was poor tourist quality and staff were quite abrupt whilst expecting tips! Disappointing that the wine tasting was after and not before dinner and hosted by the tour guide and not the hotel owner.
Overall the trip seemed rushed, but was a great place and experience although could have been much better. Recommend considering alternative company in the future.
Tour guide however spoke good English and was quite professional.

This two part tour was a two part experience. One good, one not good. The Heidelberg part of the trip was great, saw lots! Guide, George, was good and knowledgeable. Would recommend this portion of the trip. The second part of the trip was a disaster as we got caught in afternoon traffic and were stuck for over an hour on the autobahn. As a result the cruise had left and we missed most of it. The boat did stop and pick us up but we were on the boat for less than half an hour, saw four (by coach) out of the 15 castles we were supposed to see. The food we had has quite good but the waitress who did the wine tasting was pushy and obnoxious. We got charged for water which she did not make us aware of. We also paid 10 euros extra for white asparagus (3 sticks). The wine tasting, really three thimblefuls of warm red and white wine was an excuse for a hard sell of the wines we tasted. Unfortunately George our morning guide was the guide for this fiasco. We had to rush back to Frankfurt as one of our party had parked his car in a garage that was only open until 9pm. Overall this part was not good.

We went for the sites - and the sites were great. View of castles, river ride, etc - all good. But generally, the tour was long bus rides back and forth into the same town (3 times) and we were told on the ride out there we would be taking a "cable car" ride for an additional fare (not included). Lunch was at a gaudy restaurant w/rude servers and the wine tasting was back at the same restaurant (instead of at a winery or whatever). Just think the description could be clearer (set correct expectations) and cost seems high for the result.

Wish the website would have provided more detailed information about the cruise. I didn't know how long the trip actually was until I boarded the ship. The cruise starts at 9:30am and comes back at 8pm. It's a long trip! Also, I wish they would have given an address that I could put into my GPS so I could locate the area better especially since I am not familiar with every part of Cologne. I also suggest getting off of the cruise at the last stop, that way you can see everything along the way. Overall, it was a pleasant trip, I just wish I would have had more detailed information before I booked it.

The guide had litle knowledge and experience, He was unable to keep us on time, and some things took much longer. The visit to Heidelberg was good, but giving us 30-45 min to roam on our own may have enhanced the trip. The sandwich at Heidelberg was a surprise, many expected a cafe for lunch.
The Rhine valley cruise was nice, but the dinner was awful, and the waitress had poor service skills, and elongated the wine tasting process. I woud NEVER recommend this trip because of the restaurant and wine tasting and the terrible waitress.
The bus driver and guide were nice, but for the price I paid I would expect more historical knowledge, and much better time management. I was disappointed with my tours, especially when compared with other tours I have done in Europe.

The tour was great, it was everything that was advertised. There was little point in taking photos because there was so much to be photographed, I recommend you just buy the tour book. The one thing that made this tour spectacular was Michael, our tour guide. He was funny, polite and very knowledgeable. He made the trip worth every cent !!

Sin lugar a duda una experiencia genial. Hicimos el viaje de casi 12 horas desde Mainz hasta Köln con el pase de dia de Viator. Al principio no me fiaba yo mucho, porque el pase vale 30 y el viaje con la compañia del barco KD vale 62 euros. pero luego valia sin ningun problema. Hay que ir primero a la taquilla con el papel para que te lo canjeen por los tickets y luego a disfrutar del viaje. La zona de los castillos fantástica, todo muy bonito. Nos cambiaron de barco a uno mas grande a mitad camino pero sin problemas. Asegurarse de que vaya hacer buen tiempo. Hacerlo con lluvia tiene que ser una pena.

Two trips in one day really, first out to Heildelberg with a good time and explanations around the castle, then time in the old city area. Back to Frankfurt and join the Rhine River cruise tour which was a delight, the meal at one of the hotels along the river was interesting!!!!
