The guide met us at a good spot above the colosseum and the tour started on time. The guide was very knowledgeable and had visual props to share as well. He gave nice breaks where you could rest for a bit. It was a little harder to follow the description of the forum and ancient buildings because of the vast history before our eyes. Maybe a timeline would have helped with all the names etc. The guide readily answered all questions and was very positive in his approach to the group.

thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to listen too. Despite the fact that their was a transport strike on in Rome on that day our guide. Marie Therese helped us by giving information and assistance. The tour was brought to life by her unique descriptions of roman life. From the top tier down to the dungeons we enjoyed the stories which brought the collosseum to life. From there we went to the Roman Forum which was just as interesting and informative. We would definately rate this tour as first class and recommend it to anyone.

Our tour guide was wonderful! Friendly, very knowledgeable and humorous. We really enjoyed seeing the underground level of the Colosseum as well as the higher 3rd level. There was no waiting in the very long ticket lines with everyone else. She also provided a great overview tour of the Forum. This tour was very professionally done, fun and informative! My wife and I would strongly recommend this tour - just bring your walking shoes!

We had a fantastic guide to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. She was very attentive to the needs of everyone on the tour and had a special passion for bringing ancient times and the daily life of Romans alive.

Great tour. Great guide David. He was very knowledgeable, spoke English, and was funny. You need a guide for this tour. It is worth the money. The Forum part of the tour is a little boring but still worth it. Be prepared it is a lot of walking. I loved this tour and would do it again

The tour guide Paolo made this tour, at one point in the forum he quoted Mark Antony's speech from Julius Ceasar. The Colosseum was was amazing. It was great to skip the line as it was very long. It was a fairly warm day so we took advantage of the many water fountains in Rome to fill our water bottle. For those prone to heat issues (me) I would take an umbrella in the summer months for the Palantine part of the tour as unglamorous as that is. A little snack would be good to take too.

Again, another excellent tour and tour guide. The skip to the line feature is unbeatable. At the end of the entire tour including the Forum, the guide even suggested a great place for lunch. Very informate and a great value for the money.

The guide was an archaeologist called franchesca, thats all that stood out on this tour,we found the tour boring people were handing back their headsets and leaving and i must admit we were tempted but stood it to the bitter end remembering what we had paid. We expected a bit of ' colour ' put into describing what went on in this massive games arina, instead it was indepth discription of the stone work etc. This tour carried on in the same way through the roman forum etc. Regretted paying the money

Excellent tour of the Colosseum, the Forum and Palatine HIl. The tour guide was excellent

We had some trouble finding the meeting spot but eventually found it. The Colosseum is an amazing structire and we were very pleased with the tour. We actually enjoyed the Forum and Palatine Hill even more as there was a lot to see and all different aspects of Roman Life. Our guide was fantastic and made the walking tour very interesting. It was a lot of walking but fun and enjoyable.

Doing what: Imperial Rome Afternoon Tour

We have been to the Colesseum before and in the Forum. In three hours the tour guide gave us 19 minutes worth of basic information that you could read yourself when you get to each of these places. The bus cut down on some walking but we would have been better off renting earphones and listening to the info. on them. This tour is not worth the money or time. The Colosseum info. consisted of this: This is the Colosseum. It was built for Gladiator fighting. They stored the animals down below. This ends the tour.

Better than 5 star. We participated in the early morn. tour . Our guide , Franchesca was outstanding. Having been to the colosseum and the forum in the past I still learned much about ancient Rome I didn't know. Dark Rome guides are superior. Viator arrangements are to be complimented.

This was an excellent organized tour and very informative. Our guide Angela was very helpful even after the tour was over so to get the history and the stories of the Colosseum and Forum. I highly recommend this tour

Love the Colosseum. Roman Forum was less exciting. Perhaps could have been brought to life a lot more by the guide.

Good tour and guide. The Colosseum was amazing as was the Forum, however I feel an hour at each would have been long enough rather than 3 hours in total. Really enjoyed it though despite the rain!
