Francesca was our tour guide and was very well informed about our tour! She had a book with her to show how the roman forum n coliseum looked in the old times compared to now. Amazing experience to go underground in the coliseum and see where the gladiators and animals were kept! Overwhelming experience to be a part of history!! Learned so much from this tour!! Great job!

Myself and my husband joined this tour on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in Rome and it was the best decision we made the whole trip. Our tour guide's name was Sev, an archaeologist, who was absolutely fantastic. He made everyone feel comfortable and enthused right from the start. His wealth of knowledge was immeasurable and his delivery of information was very professional but relaxed at the same time. The three hour tour flew by very quickly as Sev brought us back in time to the days of ancient Rome both in the Coliseum and Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. We really got a taste of what life was like back then, it was so interesting and a tour we will never forget. Ancient Rome is fascinating and we would recommend joining Viator for this tour as it will transport you to another world in an informative but humorous way. Well done Sev.

This was a very good and informative tour for out first day in Rome. One item I found perfect for this and all following tours were the personal headphone receivers to hear the tour guide directly. Getting to the meet-up point was easy. The tour starts in the old Roman Forum area and you get a very good tour of the area including the old temples, Forum area, and Circus Maximous area so no need to go to these areas in a different tour is needed. We visited the Colosseum last and spent the end of the tour there. We added the upgrade of the lower and upper levels and this is a must, otherwise the tour will be short and you will not get the full sense of the size and scope of the building. Our guide was very informative, run by City Tours, and provided a lot of information on each sites, ruin, and area we visited. The pace was good but if you have issues with hills or steps please note there are a lot on this tour. The elevator in the Colosseum is limited and saves you just a few steps overall. This is a must do tour when going to Rome.

It was our 2nd trip back to Rome with the same tour. We were NOT disappointed! Our guide, Francesca, was knowledgeable, informative and professional. This experience was so very different from our visit in 2011. Although there were similar sites, we were taken through the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and the Colosseum with different routes. Some areas that were not available in 2011 were opened during this visit.

The most unforgettable experience during the Colosseum visit was that, we were sitting near the entrance way at the partially rebuilt floor. The guide was giving us a historical insight about the magnificent Colosseum while we admired and appreciated the surroundings. We were even allowed to take pictures in that area afterwards. It was truly AMAZING!

This is the only way to see the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. You need a guided tour as there is so much to see. I cannot recommend City Tours highly enough. We had a great guide. Shewas very friendly and informative.

Hi,

My wife and I were on our honeymoon trip and to visit some of the key sites in Rome is a must-do item in our list. The meet-up point was easy to locate. Tour set off timely. Our tour guide: Francesca (if i remember her name correctly) is a very professional, knowledgeable and friendly lady. Through the tour, we gained lots of information and facts about ancient Rome. Colosseum is really awesome and we took numerous nice photos at this site. Francesca done a great job by giving clear and descriptive explanation on the Roman forum too which allowed us to visualize how things were like in the past. Though the sun was strong during the walk, the tour was high spirited and i bet each of us in the group enjoyed it.

As the Trevi Fountain is under heavy restoration, the guide offered us an alternative and she brought us to the famous Pantheon. During our walk, she gave us small information on which are the nice restaurants to visit and which to give a miss etc.

A highly recommended tour to all.

Cheers
WH

Fantastic tour! Our guide was an archeologist, and his passion for the history and significance of the Colosseum and Roman Forum helped make this tour one of the highlights of our Rome visit.

Our tour guide for The Colosseum and Roman Forum tour was Marielle. She was a wealth of knowledge and very interesting to listen to. When we booked this tour we paid for skip the line. It is well worth paying the extra for a guide and getting through with minimum fuss.

Our Best of Rome tour took us around areas we had already visited. It was interesting but our only point would be its a long day walking if the weather is very hot. But we stayed right to the end.

An excellent tour. Our guide, Claudia, was outstanding. The Colosseum was impressive, but the best and unexpectedly most interesting part of the tour was the Roman Forum. She was very enthusiastic and mad sure we saw the key components, understood their history and significance and compared the existing ruins to illustrations of their probable look at the times of the ancients. Gave you a good understanding of Roman history. This tour does involve a good bit of walking.
