This was a good tour as I learnt alot about the history of Rome, the Colosseum and at the same time, the Roman Forum. Skipping the line was really a plus point as it really helped saved alot of time. It is a must-join tour!

My sister and I booked this walking tour as part of my mum's 60th birthday trip to Rome. I had visited the Colosseum and the Roman forums before, but without a guide so I was intrigued to know what the guide would add. We weren't disappointed at all, Maria our guide was funny, friendly and most importantly very knowledgeable. We all came away with a real understanding of what the Colosseum stood for, how it had been used and the history attached to it. The same was true of the Roman forum. Even the rain didn't spoil our fun. This really is a worthwhile trip and a great way to get the most out of a visit to these historic sites.

thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to listen too. Despite the fact that their was a transport strike on in Rome on that day our guide. Marie Therese helped us by giving information and assistance. The tour was brought to life by her unique descriptions of roman life. From the top tier down to the dungeons we enjoyed the stories which brought the collosseum to life. From there we went to the Roman Forum which was just as interesting and informative. We would definately rate this tour as first class and recommend it to anyone.

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour

Excellent tour. If deciding between the small group or the 25 person max tour, I'd recommend the latter simply because you'll save some money and get the same information. The tour guide has a small microphone and everyone is given an earpiece so you don't miss a thing if you're in the back of the group. The tour guide will ensure you don't get lost; she had a small flag to follow and was regularly counting to make sure everyone was together before moving on.

We were taken to the "can't miss" Roman sights and received great commentary. The tour guide was enthusiastic, extremely knowledgeable and gave great information that I never would have known had I just read a tour book and visited these sites on my own. The focus was mainly the Colosseum and Roman Forum but considering those are the largest, and arguably the most important, it was perfect. There were also plenty of stops to take photos, as well as passing a few toilets so no worries there.

This is a particularly excellent tour if you have limited time in Rome.

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour

The Ancient Rome Half-Day walking tour was my favorite in Italy. The entire tour was 'first-class' all the way! The guide offered wonderful insight to all of the stops on our walking tour including the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and a few others. The guide was friendly, patient, and loaded with historical facts about Rome. I cannot think of a better way to start your Roman adventure then taking this tour offered by Viator. It is very much worth your time and money. Enjoy!

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour

This tour was excellent, mostly in part to our guide Larissa who was great throughout. Seen so much of Rome on this day, skipped the line for the Colloseum, had our own time in the Roman Forum before going to many other bits around town. Would definatley reccomend this.

Our guide Raphaela was easy to find at the designated place and we really did skip the line, which was worth it as we only had two full days in Rome. Our tour guide was informative, said just enough and was patient with inquiries. We had plenty of time at the Colosseum and also the Roman forum and Palatine Hill which was fabulous. Despite the 30+ degree heat Raphaela kept us enthused over three hours. I would reccomend this company for focussed direct access to this great site.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour

Wow. What an experience. Great tour through the area of the Palantine Hill and Roman Forum then into the Colosseum. Another tour where to knowledgable giude beats a simple audio guide. Along with the Vatican Tour this covers so much of Rome and its history. We are telling everyone we can.

Our guide was a great guy who was from Italy, through Dark Rome tours- he truly made the tour come to life! I wish I could remember his name- we toured on 9/15/11, AM English tour. Loved the stories and history, as well as the colosseum and Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum- it was quite hot when we were there though, so if it's warm, bring water bottles (you can refill at the drinking fountains- as good as bottled water) and dress ready to walk in the heat. If I have any further recommendation it's just this: Book this tour!

Amazing tour. We loved our guide and he gave us an amazing account of the history of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum etc. A great tour and skipping the line helped a lot too. I highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Rome.

The tour fo Ancient Rome, the Colosseum & the Imperial Roman Forum, were very fun & informative. our guide was well versed in the facts of the areas.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour

Money well spent !!!! Our guide was an italian who spoke very good english and had a very good sense of humour, he new every detail around the tour and the Roman forum would have just looked like a pile of stones if it had not of been for him. A professionally organised tour which I would recommend to anyone going to Rome.

An excellent experience. Our guide drew a truly passionate picture of the history of Ancient Rome, illustrated with insightful and amusing anecdotes. So much more than just a repetition of dates and events. Our thirteen year old teenage son now sees history as cool, a massive achievement. The tour does what it says, jump the queues and take a three hour brisk walk, through, over and under the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. Take a water bottle, comfortable shoes and plenty of memory card space and batteries.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour

Brilliant tour, even better tour guide Sara(unsure of correct spelling). On a hot September morning we stepped back in time to Ancient Rome, and despite the crowds our guide found less crowded spots around the Colosseum,Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum to give us a real sense of the history of the city. Highly recommended.

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour

. The walking tour of Rome was really interesting, we were worried that we would be too hot but the short breaks, ice-cream stops and shaded streets meant the heat caused no problem. Our guide was interesting and very knowledgeable as she is an archaeologist by profession and actually showed us where she was currently working in the roman forum! Would highly recommend this tour, especially if you either have a keen interest in history or are eager to learn more
