Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Civitavecchia Cruise Port to Rome Fiumicino Airport
First rate, our driver was waiting at the airport and gave a commentary on the trip to the port.
A great help with our handicapped daughter.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Rome Fiumicino Airport to Civitavecchia Cruise Port
Same drive arrived within minutes of our disembarking and spotted us quickly.
He provided a 2 euro coin for the baggage cart on arrival at the airport. Excellent service

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Civitavecchia Cruise Port to Rome Fiumicino Airport
We were picked up promptly in a very nice van by a very courteous driver. It was a great way to get to Civitavecchia from Rome and back to Fiumicino Airport after our cruise.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Civitavecchia Cruise Port to Central Rome
The service was efficient, arriving on time both at the port and in Rome. The only reason I would not rate 5 stars is because one of the drivers spoke virtually no English, and the other spoke just enough to get by. We were unsure of where we were to be picked up due to the communication issue. All worked out well, though. I would recommend the service, but would suggest having drivers fluent in the language of the party being serviced.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Central Rome to Civitavecchia Cruise Port
Excellent. We were picked up at the hotel and transported to the cruise port in a very comfortable car with air conditioning. Door to door service. The driver was very polite and friendly and helped us with our luggage. It was worth the money.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Civitavecchia Cruise Port to Central Rome
Our driver, although not fluent in English, was extremely pleasant and accommodating.
His car was immaculate and the drive from the port to our hotel in central Rome was enjoyable.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Private Transfer: Civitavecchia Cruise Port to Rome Fiumicino Airport
Very efficient!!!! I was worried that we wouldn't be able to find the taxi driver in the midst of all the people getting off the ship but it was no problem at all! We got off the ship 30 minutes earlier than scheduled and the taxi was already waiting for us!! I couldn't believe it! Fabulous car, plenty of space for EXTRA luggage, and almost HALF the price the ship was charging for its own transfer to the airport. Definitely a win-win choice!

Doing what: Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome in One Day Sightseeing Tour
This far exceeded our expectations! They where there at the cruise port to pick us up the second we arrived and we were off well before the large tour buses from the ship. The guide gave us a nice overview of the local area on the way to Rome. Once in Rome we saw all the major sites as outlined, and we even saw a few extra. The lunch was very nice in a local restaurant. The best part about the trip was our guide. She so engaging and interacted with us throughout the day. Her knowledge of the sites was detailed and very interesting. I will be recommending this to all interested friends heading to Rome.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome in One Day Sightseeing Tour
Viator saved my wife and I roughly $300 for a similar excursion offered by our cruise ship. Our tour guide was magnificent...Rome was by far the best part of our trip, due to no small part by the role of our tour guide. The day got off to somewhat of a Rocky start as we could not immediately identify the correct bus to get on off of our cruise ship to take us to the general meeting point outside of the port. Viator also did not hold up a sign with our name on it as described in the written instructions they provided. They did however have a sign that included the Viator logo along with a few other logos of company's that contracted our particular tour guide. And we even made it back to our ship on time after an action-packed day.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome in One Day Sightseeing Tour
I was somewhat disappointed with our tour. The guide was knowledgeable but there was a tremendous amount of walking, far more than we expected. It was 40 C or 104 degrees with about 80 percent humidity. The guide never stopped for a bathroom break, except at lunch or a chance to sit down and rest or get something to drink. Although she was knowledgeable, she was very inexperienced. We only had a driver to get to the castle and walked all over Prague for the rest of the day. none of us expected that, we figure we walked over 5 or 6 miles. We fully expected that we would be picked up again by van after lunch and transported into town which was not the case. Also we lost someone along the way and the guide was not overly concerned about it. There were 3 or four different tours going on all at the same time, which also made it difficult. In many cases we had a hard time hearing the guide because we had to walk single file down the narrow streets, so many of us missed out on the information. Several other tour companies now offer a headset so that the guide can be understood. This tour should be described much more accurately as a walking tour, and should include restroom stops and stops for drinks, especially under such hot and humid conditions.

Doing what: Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Rome in One Day Sightseeing Tour
We were a party of six with 17 people on this tour and it fully met our expectations. We were met immediately coming off our shuttle bus. Our guide in Rome was Nicola who was absolutely fantastic all day. He was amazing in the Sistine Chapel where he found us all benches to sit and held us captivated for over half an hour as he spoke with passion and humour about Michaelangelo and the symbolism in the Last Judgement. I was expecting to be shepherded through in 5 minutes. Word of warning. I you want to buy the Sistine Chapel calendars or books do it inthe Vatican museum before entering the chapel as they are not available in other Vatican bookstores afterwards.
The meal was a a bonus in Piazza Navona as we expected to pay extra and found to our pleasant surprise it was included in the tour. We were back with time to spare. Wish we has an extra hour, day or week to further explore the forum and rest of the city but if you only have one day and your ship is at Civitavecchia then this is the right tour. Seems expensive but it was great value and considerably less costly than the Princess Cruise tour with a much smaller group and more full itinerary. Thank you Nicola - the best guide we had on our entire Mediterranean Cruise- and that is high praise because we had some very good ones at Pompeii and Ephasus and Athens!
