I was personally not excited to visit the Vatican City because it just "wasn't my thing". However, my traveling partner wanted to go. I selected this tour because of the historical narrative and good online reviews. Neither of us were disappointed. Our guide, Anna, was an American art graduate living over in Rome and wonderful. She was sweet, super knowledgeable, approachable throughout the tour with the group's questions. I was disappointed with the Sistine Chapel but that was in no way the tour's or our guide's fault. The Vatican allows WAY TOO MANY people in the chapel at the same time and then YELLED "SILENZIO" to get people to be quiet the whole time which of course was ironic. Anna, somehow managed to find all the drifters in the group that didn't meet up at the designated time to her credit. The Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Basilica were just beyond opulent and jaw dropping, but it was very very crowded with other tours and guides not as respectful as ours. My experience was a 3, but this tour operated at a 5 with delivering good experience with everything in their power. Anna is a real doll and I highly recommend her.

The tour was hot, long, exhausting and fascinating and I wouldn't have missed it for the worlds. It was invaluable to be in a small group with an excellent leader who was so amusing and totally informative. We were amazed at the sheer size of the Vatican City and its contents. The various museums were so full of treasures of all kinds that you could scarcely take it all in. To stand in the Sistine Chapel and realise this was all the work of one man!!! Being lead to the front of all the queues was unbeatable. I would always do the same if given the opportunity and would recommend it to everybody. After the various museums and the Sistine Chapel St Peter's was an anti climax. I cannot make any adverse comment about the Viator tour. Some of the other tourists left a bit to be desired but that was a different thing. Take 10 out of 10.

Excellent tour and the "skip the line" portion is absolutely invaluable! We met very early (7.50 a.m.) outside the museum entrance and once we were ready to enter, there was already quite a long queue - which we breezed right past and into the lobby. Our group was small (10) so it was easy to stay together and the tour guide was very informative and kept us moving along quite efficiently. We visited Vatican City on the day before Palm Sunday so St Peter's was super-crowded but the small group made it easy for our guide to get us together to impart information and then give us a few minutes to take photos, etc. before we gathered again to move to the next point of interest. Excellent morning!

This tour is a must when visiting Rome. Our tour guide was Tiffany. She was an excellent teacher, who explained everything to us and answered our questions with enthusiasm. It was particularly helpful that she explained about the paintings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, before we went in, as it gave us grater understanding about what we were seeing. The treasures, and the sheer scale, of the Vatican City are not to be missed

The tour given by Tiffany McIver was nothing short of extraordinary. She was able to bring to life all the history and the art that surrounded us in ways I am too inarticulate to explain in this brief review. She was funny, enthusiastic, intelligent and professional. She never lost her train of thought or wandered away from her main points but she did expand and explore many different avenues of the site itself and proved equally knowledgeable in the art, history, politics and religion and Rome and Vatican City. I attended the tour with 6 other women from my bookgroup and we were equally impressed and even moved by her obvious passion for her subject. Put Tiffany in charge of training all your guides, you would then be assured of having clients who have not only taken tours and become more informed, but additionally you will have loyal clients who will have had the experience of a lifetime! Although this was my fourth visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, I felt as though it was the first time I ever really SAW it. Thank you Tiffany for an amazing afternoon! Highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was upbeat and very knowledgable. Tour run from 9am until 12.30pm.
I left with a world of new knowledge and interest. the vatican city is stunning but would not have been so alive if i hadnt taken the tour. One of the best things i did while in Rome.

Our guide was excellent! I would not go to the Vatican without a guide. First, to walk around the Vatican and not know where your going will take a longtime and waste of well needed energy. We met at the Vaticano Cafe and were lead without waiting in this huge line that wrapped around the wall of the Vatican City. This place is massive with 30,000 thousand people going there each day. If you go on your own you should add an extra 3 hours just figuring things out and waiting in line. I would not go anywhere without a guide with a limited amount of time. She was truly, truly excellent and I know what I was looking at...when I saw people roaming around lost and confused....do not go without this tour....trust me!

Michelle was a wonderful guide. She was passionate about the history of the Vatican City and really made it come alive. The tour passed very quickly indeed.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican in One Day

Vatican City if amazing and our tour guide was also amazing. Thank you Victoria. Her knowledge and interesting facts were endless. We left there in awe of the wonderful experience of the art and the holiness of the place. There is a lot of walking and it is very crowded but it was definitely worth it.

Our Vatican Museums Walking Tour was a highlight of our time in Rome. We arrived at the Vatican City early(8:30am Oct 16) and there were already long queues of people. We met our tour guide opposite the Vatican, followed him across the road and skipped the queue. Mr T.(our tour guide)was fantastic! Knowledgeable and comical. It's an amazing place to visit. I would recommend this tour.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican in One Day

The tour was awesome and our both of our tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly! I would highly recommend this tour because not only to you get a chance to spend time touring Vatican City and the Vatican Museums, but you also spend the afternoon traveling to the Papal Basilicas, which was an incredible experience! It was also nice to skip the lines and start your tour at a designated time. This allowed you to plan out your day accordingly and avoid any hassle related to standing in line. The guides were able to supplement the tour by providing rich, detailed information regarding the history of the various sites on the tour, which only added to the overall experience.

Our guide was very knowledgable and made our tour interesting, we had fun and learned a lot about Vatican City. I would never have ventured without a guide, the lines were ridiculous, with the pass we got to go straight to security.

I took the Vatican City tour in mid Sept 2010 and I highly recommend it! Our guide was very knowledgeable, had a good sense of humour and great energy - despite the heat she led us through with enthusiasm and interesting anecdotes even though she was several months pregnant! There were several school aged children in our group and even they were kept engaged throughout the tour. Lots of interesting sights and information to hear about - and our guide made sure to point out good photo opportunities.

This tour was AMAZING! I can't imagine going to Vatican City without our guide. Our guide was extremely knowledgable, was hilarious and made our day unforgettable. Also, we were able to skip the huge line and walk right in! Loved it!

I thought we could save money by buying entry tickets on line and wandering around by ourselves.I am so glad we did'nt.Trust me ,spend the money and take the tour. The first advantage is that you will not have to wait in that ridiculously long queue to get in and the Vatican City is vast ,a guide is a must for you to get the most from your visit. We had a young American woman named Tiffany as our guide and she was fantastic. She was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humour.
