Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
I was recommended the tour by my cousin and his wife. It was excellent! The tour guide gave us a real insight into Rome, the Vatican City, concepts of art history and much more, which made the whole experience memorable. Although the walk through the museums' was an hour, it was only a brief view of the art work held within the Vatican City, this was ideal for us! There is the option to stay longer in the museums for anyone interested, if that is you I'd recommend taking a pack lunch as you will be there the entire day! The tour does not include visiting St Peter's domed roof, which is an extra, but well worth the experience! What is not provided by the tour guide are maps for the art work in either the Sistine chapel or St Peter's which would have been a useful reference tool as you have the chance to wander these on your own. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour as an excellent way to view the Vatican and appreciate its history and significance.

Not only was the Vatican City amazing, our tour guide was fantastic! Our guide and all that she taught us was one of the highlights of our 5 week trip! We wished we could have put her in our pocket and taken her around the rest of Italy and Paris with us. We would highly recommend this tour!

Already having our ticket voucher, it was fantastic to skip the 2 hour queue and walk straight into Vatican City! Brilliant guide with good sense of humour. Well organised tour and certainly well worth seeing, especially St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
This was the best tour we went on. I don't think there was anything our guide didn't know about. It was very informative and interesting. An amazing place to visit, but you need the tour to make it worthwhile. Definitely do this tour if you go to Vatican City.

This tour was FABULOUS. The tour operator was the best! The tour guide was friendly, very well-informed, funny and had flawless English. If there is a Vatican city tour I'd recommend, this is the one!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
We absolutely loved our tour of the Vatican City Museum. Our tour guide knew everything about the subject and also managed to bring the period and artists to life - I feel I would know Michelangelo or Raphael if they walked in the door!!

Great, absolutely fabulous place. You never see so much culture accumulated in one small place as the Vatican City. Well organised tour.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide was friendly and knew her stuff. The Vatican museum was overcrowded and very hot, no air-conditioning. The Raphael rooms and the Sistine Chapel were everything I imagined. The guide was not allowed to enter the basilica, which was disappointing. All in all, it was a good tour. We spent the entire day at Vatican City. An amazing experience.

We had an excellent guide with a tremendous depth of knowledge about the art and history within the Vatican City. The tour ensured we saw more than just the obvious highlights and made the most of the few hours spent in such a fantastic place.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Our tour guide was a young American graduate with a degree in Western History. His background and passion were very evident on our tour. He provided tremendous insight and information about the various aspects of the tour, was easy to talk to and delivered a wonderful tour. Our group was limited to 20 people as advertised, so we weren't struggling to keep everyone together. We had some issues getting into the museum, but Viator representatives were there immediately to take care of the problem. A note to anyone thinking of standing in line for a do-it-yourself tour, DON'T. We got to Vatican City around 900am and the line was already exceptionally long. Viator got us in immediately.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
The tour was absolutely worthwhile. We had only two days in Rome, and did the Vatican tour and the Ancient Rome and Colosseum Walking Tour. Walking by yourself, you will never gain the wealth of information, insights, and little bits of interesting facts that the English speaking tour leaders give you. We were so glad we missed the long queue of people standing in the scorching sun waiting to buy tickets! The tour includes three hours of walking, so if you have done walking for a number of days in a row, take good shoes! The Michaelangelo and Raphael art seen in the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel is breathtaking, and so is the St. Peter's Cathedral. The tour leader does not take you through the St Peter's Cathedral, but provides enough interesting facts about the Cathedral before leaving the group at the front entrance, where after you can walk through the Cathedral at your own pace. I have been to the Vatican City ten years ago, but did not join a tour, and I have missed so much then. This time, going there with the tour felt like I've seen it for the very first time. This really is a must for any visitor to Rome!

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Fantastic! From meeting our cheery and helpful tour guide to the breath-taking Sistine Chapel and the beautiful St. Peter's. Our guide was friendly and full of information. She really knew all there was to know about Vatican City. She was polite, cheerful, and considerate. The tour itself covered all that was possible in the three hours that we had there. It is impossible to see everything! The Vatican area was very busy and there were a lot of young school children about, but they were all well-behaved despite the crowds in the Raphael rooms and the chapel itself. The tour was the only thing that we booked in advance and it was, without doubt, the best thing we could have done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour to anyone.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour
I loved the convenience of being picked up that the hotel and taken straight to the Vatican. While on the bus, we passed the line for the Vatican. Let me just say that it was the longest line I've ever seen. I could not believe it. Why more people don't book a tour in advance I do not know. Our guide was knowledgeable to the max. I could not have asked for anything more; it was just perfect. At the end of the day, we had the option of staying in Vatican City on our own or being dropped off at any reasonable location of our choice instead of the hotel. This tour was one of the highlights of a trip of a lifetime.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel Tour
Vatican City is very big in terms of the number of museums and areas to visit, so a tour is highly recommended. I felt bad for tourists I overheard in several areas, including St. Peter's Basilica, asking the guards, "Is this the Sistine Chapel?" Without research and an idea of what you are doing, it could be confusing. Vatican City has about seven miles of museums! Our tour guide was excellent and allowed ample us time to stay in the Sistine Chapel and really take it in. She also did an excellent job of explaining the various paintings in the Sistine Chapel and the stories behind them before we went in, so we would really understand what we were looking at. This was a great tour, and skipping the long lines was icing on the cake!
