Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This day trip was superb. Although it was a long day, it was worth every minute. Our tour guides, Antonella and Violet, and bus driver Antonio were just great. Seeing the sights in Pompeii was extremely interesting and the bus ride/hike to the top of Vesuvius was just so beautiful and exciting. The spectacular views at the top of the volcano made the trek to the top well worthwhile. To be prepared for the heat and hike, wear comfortable, closed toed shoes, take the walking stick offered at the beginning of the hike up Vesuvius and bring or buy an ample supply of water. All the members of my family of 5, including three teenagers, had a great day. We were in Rome for a week and this was an excellent way to get out of the city, see some of the countryside, and have one in lifetime experiences that we will always remember.

Doing what: Taste of Italy Food Tour to Chianti and Umbria from Rome
Despite this being a long day it was by far the most enjoyable tour we did during our short stay in Rome. The group was small (9) and the multilingual guide was excellent. The venues we visited really allowed us to get a feel for the area and the people. While it did have a tight schedule there was sufficient time to look at the villages. We would recommend this tour

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour
Miki (Michela) was an outstanding guide through the Roman ruins and their history, and to several famous sites afterwards. She showed the depth of her knowledge answering many questions from our group, made the Colisseum and Roman Forum spring to life so we could see it all as it was. She knew things about Bernini, his father and associates we hadn't heard before. In the Pantheon we again felt history all around us. We took this tour with her the day we arrived in Rome, and thanks to this very special young lady found out why it is called The Eternal City.

Doing what: Viator VIP: Sistine Chapel Private Viewing and Small-Group Tour of the Vatican's Secret Rooms
Amazing tour and one thing you will appreciate after a few days in Rome, a tour away from the crowds. I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to sit in The Sistine Chapel for an hour with eight other people admiring the artwork. Also enjoyed relaxed viewings of the other amazing displays in the Museums such as the Hall of maps and Raphael Rooms. Expensive but absolutely worth it.

Doing what: Ghost and Mystery Walking Tour of Rome
I was pretty sceptical about this tour when I booked it, but it was reasonably priced and I thought why not, so I booked this for our first night in Rome and I wasn't dissapointed one bit!
Our guide (Gio I think her name was) was brilliant, very interesting and really knew how to tell a story! I love the tales of Ancient Rome, and I was totally left wanted more, I could have easily listerned all night, and I was so intrigued by some of the places that we visited on the tour, that I insisted we went back the following day to explore in more detail!
Brilliant start to the holiday, thank you!
ps. wear confy shoes!

Doing what: 3-Day Italy Trip: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri
This trip was just perfect! The right amount of time to spend in both Naples and Pompeii, and the hotel in Sorrento was lovely. Dinner both nights was amazing, and also a nice breakfast buffet. I had a view of the bay outside my hotel window. The day trip to Capri with Sascha was very pleasant, and we got to see the Blue Grotto. You should definitely go on the chairlift to the top of the island, also - the view is breathtaking. I took the bus to Positano on the 3rd day, and it was so beautiful, the color of the water was unbelievable. It was raining off and on during the whole trip, but that helped to cool down the temperature and humidity so it was pleasant, and when the bus left Sorrento we could look out over the bay and there was a full rainbow stretching from Naples to Capri. It was amazing!
(I would not advise trying to go to more than one town on the Amalfi Coast that 3rd day, though, because you might be waiting for the public buses for a while and might not get back to Sorrento in time for the tour bus back to Rome.)
I would definitely recommend taking this trip!

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour
Rome may not have been built in a day but we sure did see it all in half of one thanks to the great 3 hour walking tour of the ancient sites. Great English speaking guide with wonderful anecdotes and an archeological degree kept us engaged and interested. Couldn't be more pleased!

Doing what: Taste of Italy Food Tour to Chianti and Umbria from Rome
My tour to Cortona was amazing. Our tour guide was very pleasant and fun to be with. It was very well organized and everything was perfect. Our lunch with the group was so much fun. We had a great group, we got to know each other, and the meal was delicious, I would recommend this trip if you want a day trip away from Rome to learn about some great wines! The group I was with agreed that maybe the time in Cortona to shop could have been a little longer, maybe 2 hours instead of 1. However I had no problem doing as much shopping as I could in that hour,...record breaking. Great leather shops and great prices for purses. I will definitly do it again. Thank you for a great day!!!!

This was our favorite tour of all. Our guide was just great -- a long day, but it was well worth it. Just a beautiful place to see! A must if you have a few days in Rome.

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This was the best day of our holiday! The tour guide Giovanna was amazing. Very enthusiastic, informative and funny. She made what could of been a long boring bus ride very entertaining and interesting. The climb of Vesuvius was steep but the view from the top was incredible. And then to cap off an already excellent day we went to pompeii of course, and there are not enough positive adjectives to describe what we saw. I was expecting well preserved ruins but what we saw was more than that. You really got the sense you were in another time. We were given a different guide here and he was very good as well. He really knew his stuff and he answered any questions we had. All in all it was a fantastic day!! I would recommend this trip to anyone going to Rome!

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Violet the tour guide was awesome. We had an excellent pizza lunch and hiking up the volcano was awesome. The view is amazing, but it is a little tiring after the long day in the sun. If you can avoid it don't come to Rome/Italy in July/August it's packed and ridiculously hot.

Doing what: Skip the Line: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica Half-Day Walking Tour
Let me preface my statements by saying it was typically hot day in Rome when we undertook this tour. The fast pass was a nice way to pass the incredibly long lines. However, you should note that backpacks are booked into a cloak room at the start of the tour and to get them back is not an easy process. Seeing the Vatican was a great day.

Doing what: Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour
I would highly recommend this tour.
We took the 2pm tour and although it was unbelievably warm in Rome that day, it was still highly enjoyable. Francessca was our tour guide and she was very passionate about her city and provided a lot of good information. The tour started of in the Collesium and the inside tour of the Collesium was very impressive, the tour continued on then to the Roman Forum and then finished at the Trevi Fountain. The tour did last 3 hours and i enjoyed every minute of it. Would recommend everyone to do this tour during their stay in Rome.
