Amalfi coast was amasing and beautiful. Pompeii was worth the long trip. Was tiring but well worth the full day

This was generally a good trip. We were about twenty minutes late leaving in the morning, which was frustrating, but not too bad. The coach was comfortable, with a member of staff who spoke English, and gave us limited instructions (where and when to meet coach). If you want an actual tour guide, this is not for you. We had about 4.5hrs at Pompeii, which is long enough. Overall, this trip is basically just a coach there and back to the site, as such it is as tad pricey, but you pay for the convenience.

Excellent value for your money. The tour guide spoke very clear English, was easy to understand, and everything was included in the price. Pizza lunch was terrific as were all the tours included (Vesuvius, Pompeii..).

excellent trip, guides were informative and very helpful, Pompeii guide was excellent as well.

This was lovely. Our guide Rosa and the driver Federico, were wonderful. The guide for Pompeii was good, but too long. If we had a one hour tour, then we could have wandered around on our own, for the last hour before they closed, or possible continued with the guide. That would have been great. Regardless, we enjoyed the day very much.

The tour of Pompeii itself was great. A little long, but that's because it's so huge. The lunch provided was pretty terrible though. The guides raved about Neopolitan pizza, but the lunch stop we were taken to was obviously just for large tour groups and it was pretty bad. My margharita pizza had little cheese and not even one whole leave of basil on it. No good. Also, the weather was bad enough that we were unable to go to Mt. Vesuvius so we were stuck going into Naples to visit the museum. I'd rather the trip be cut short since the museum was pretty sparse, not impressive and I hate to say it, but lame. (We went to other great museums in Rome so it's not that we don't like museums.) We also were not given a whole of of time (maybe 15 minutes) to souvenir shop at the rest stop, Pompeii, or even the museum (which was no great loss). Eh.

It was a nice idea in concept but it took way to long to get there in a day. We got stuck in traffic so the trip ended up being 4 hours there and 3.5 back. It was rainy and cold so we could not go up Mt. Vesuvius. Even beyond that, the local tour guide in Pompeii was not that great and even asked us to tip her at the end, which considering how much I paid for the tour I did not do. The local tour guide was really not that interesting and seemed to just not care about our experience. The only upside was the helpfulness of Massimo (our tour operator guide).

We had such a fantastic day and could not have done this on our own. Our guide in Pompeii was very passionate about his work and the excavations accomplished in Pompeii. Lunch was wonderful and the restaurant was really lovely. We were both so glad we could experience Pompeii and Vesuvius so hassle free and the lunch was a real bonus. Really recommend this tour.

This tour was a mixed bag. First stop Naples. I think they included it in the tour, just to accommodate the shuffling of guests between tour buses. The tour was a walk from the ugly parking lot past a castle and through a very pretty shopping mall and back to the car park. Onto another bus and off to Pompeii for lunch (pretty good) and tour of Pompeii (too short). Back on another bus and on to Sorrento to check in at a lovely hotel. There was no Sorrento tour, which was okay. We walked around and relaxed at the hotel. Morning tour to Capri, which started with a stop at a large gift shop in Sorrento (totally unnecessary). We were lucky our guide rushed us right off the ferry and onto the boat to the Blue Grotto, because it closed shortly after we came back (kudos to him). Then we had lunch at a pizzeria in the upper city and walked around for some charming coffee and shopping. Back on the bus, ferry, bus and to the hotel again. Free evening. Two dinners at the hotel were included, but I wish we had skipped one and eaten out in Sorrento. It was good, but limited menu. Twice in a row was too much. We were instructed to be ready to go at 330, but the bus didn't arrive until 415. They took us back to Pompeii, shuffled us onto another bus, which stopped in Capri to pickup more people and dropped us off blocks from our hotel at 1030pm in the rain, with all our luggage. Luckily my iPhone was working for directions. They didn't plan any time for dinner. They gave us 10 minutes to grab something at a gift shop/deli/rest stop.

Got rained out so couldn't do Vesuvius and Pompeii was hard work. Restaurant for lunch was terrible. So can't blame them for the weather, but can't say I had a great time.

A long, but wonderful day, spent with great guides. More time in Pompeii would have been great, but it's really far from Rome, so that's expected. Learned a lot, but was entertained too. Sarah and Ashley did a great job of wrangling the crew and keeping us relatively on time

This day trip was the highlight of a recent trip to Rome. Comfortable vehicle, gracious and knowledgeable guide (Andrew), and they secured a wonderful guide for us at Pompeii (Gaetani). The leisurely lunch in Positano was a special treat. I booked this tour operator because everyone gave them five stars on all their tours, and they certainly didn't disappoint. Yes, it's a long (14-hr.) day, but well worth it. I will book this operator for future tourist in Italy.

Doing what: Naples and Pompeii Day Trip from Rome

We were extremely pleased with our trip. Our guide at Pompeii was quite knowledgeable and gave us an excellent tour. The only problem was waiting so long to pick up the Capri passengers and getting back so late.

Here again our tour guide both on the bus and at Pompeii were outstanding. Loved being there and leaving about the past. Great day.

Mt. Vesuvious was AMAZING! It was beautiful and exciting to make it to the top! Pompeii was interesting but unfortunately, our guide was hard to understand and the headsets were very "choppy" cutting in and out.
