Doing what: Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome
This was an amazing experience I enjoyed in every way and most definitely recommend to any traveller staying more than 4 days in Rome! Our guide Marcelo was funny, knowledgeable and professional. He took us through the beautiful Amalfi Coast towns, from the Mamma Mia curves to Vetri sur Mare gelatos and all the way to lovely Positano. Blue oceans, crevices and rifts, buganbilia flowers painting the landscapes in hot pink, limoncello and delicious bufala mozzarella. What a trip! And finally Pompeii! It is in excellent state and our guide Antonio is an old-timer who dominates the ruins. LOVED it and would recommend to all!

Doing what: Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome
One of our highlights travelling down here from Rome. WE based ourselves in Rome so this day trip allowed us to get down here - this will be where we stay next time. Service from Andrew our driver was great, he was entertaining and answered all our questions. Pompeii tour was also well done, though was really an introduction to the ruins; you could easily spend the whole day here instead of just 2 hours.

Doing what: 3-Day Italy Trip: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri
After 10 days of exploring Rome, Tuscany, Pisa and Venice, we needed a slower pace to culminate our trip. The three days offered exactly what we wanted. Naples and Pompeii were a bit tiring, but very intersting. Capri, Blue Grotto and Sorrento were relaxing and beautiful. The four star hotel, Embassadorie, was amazingly beautiful and unexpected. It included lunch and dinner in a grand fashion and our room was with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. For the price we paid for this excursion, we did not expect such accomodations. Thumps up, way up for this leg of the trip. It exceeded our expectations.

Then it was of to one of earths beautiful spots Sorrento we stayed at the Ambassador hotel so nice great breakfast and dinner and a view to die for. Blue grotto Capriapri to much to write we will return to here some day and stay at least a week. A big thank you to our guide we had for the trip to Capri. Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
A friend of mine and I booked ourselves on a day trip to Pompeii and Vesuvuis. Both of us enjoyed it immensely. Our guide whom we met in Rome before setting off to Pompeii, was very pleasant and extremely helpful. She has been living in Italy for a couple of years and has got a well round knowledge about the history of the regions we travelled accross. The Italian guide, who walked us through the old city of Pompeii, was good and provided us with interesting information about the city's history and way of everyday life. Thank you very much for such an enjoyable and memorable trip.

Doing what: Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome
This was an excellent day trip from Rome. We booked on the net and the process was smooth. The minivan was clean and spacious and turned up at our accommodation on time. Our guide was excellent and so was the itinerary. The day gives you a taste of the Amalfi coast, with a good lunch stop at Positano (you're free to choose your own lunch venue) and then a tour of the Pompeii ruins on the return trip to Rome. The specialist guide at Pompeii was also outstanding. It's a long day, with an early start, but it didn't feel arduous, thanks to the well worked out itinerary. We would definitely recommend.

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
We really enjoyed our trip to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius. The coach collected us from a central location which was easily accessible. We had a stop half way there for refreshments and restrooms. Coach was air-conditioned and our driver was great at manoeuvring the steep hills! Our guides for the journey were fantastic. They were so friendly, welcoming and informative. Really made our trip special. Our guide at Pompeii was brilliant. So knowledgeable and a real character. He told us lots of interesting facts but also left us to roam around a bit on our own too. We had a pizza lunch and then made our way to Vesuvius. You weren’t obligated to do the hike if you didn’t want to. If you do choose to do it, a tip would be to wear comfortable shoes and use sunscreen. It’s hotter up there than you think! Also, open-toed shoes probably aren’t the best thing to wear as the stones on the hike up there get stuck between your toes and slow you down! After that, we headed back to Rome, with another restroom stop on the way back. We really enjoyed our day and would recommend this excursion to anyone thinking of visiting. The only negative was that we didn’t feel we had all the time we would’ve liked to explore all of Pompeii. It seemed to go by really fast and it felt like there was more to see. Saying that, we did have the meal and hike so we were working to a deadline I guess!

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
We were so happy that we'd booked this tour by the time the day was over. Our guide in Pompeii was so knowledgable about the site and really made our experience memorable. Make sure you wear good shoes if you plan to walk up to the top of Vesuvius. Our guide for the day was equally kind and helpful. The only thing lacking was our lunch, which was just mediocre. But who expects a gourmet meal on a bus tour. I'd recommend this trip to anyone wanting to travel from Rome for the day. You'll be tired at the end of the day, but It'll be worth it.

Doing what: Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome
This day trip was the highlight of a recent trip to Rome. Comfortable vehicle, gracious and knowledgeable guide (Andrew), and they secured a wonderful guide for us at Pompeii (Gaetani). The leisurely lunch in Positano was a special treat. I booked this tour operator because everyone gave them five stars on all their tours, and they certainly didn't disappoint. Yes, it's a long (14-hr.) day, but well worth it. I will book this operator for future tourist in Italy.

A great day out! Definitely 5 stars!! We were only in Rome for 3 days and filled one of our days with this trip.
The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and did their utmost to make the day enjoyable and special.
Pompeii was amazing, as was the provided lunch.
The ONLY negative was that whilst the meal came with one drink included additional cans of drink were 5 Euros. I had a wine but I was NOT going to pay 5 Euros for a coke!
The restaurant needs to be politely informed that ripping off tourists in such a disgusting way is just bad for tourism.
Or Viator, please go elsewhere!
Otherwise you did a fantastic job, thanks

Doing what: 3-Day Italy Trip: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri
I would highly recommend this trip. Initially I thought it was a bit too expensive but in hindsight it was definately worth it. We took 3 days out of a week in Rome to do it and were delighted we did. It made our short holiday complete. The tour guides were friendly, helpful and informative. Everything was timely and prompt not delays and no problems overall. Pompeii was fascinating and Sorrento and Capri were beautiful and worth the trip. We stayed in the Ambassador Hotel in Sorrento and it was fabulous one of the high lights of the trip. Our guide arranged a separate private tour for 8 of us to do a further day trip to Amalfi and Positano from Sorrento which was another great day out and fairly priced. Our visit to Naples was short and sweet but again the Tour guide showed us the highlights excellently and much to my surprise Naples was worth stopping off to see on route. Very happy overall with the trip content, locations, and guides. This trip was a definate winner all round! R Donegan, Ireland. May 2012

A great trip even though we missed mount Vesuvius (closed due to weather) they substituted with the museum of archeology in Naples which added beautifully to the information we gained in Pompeii. The tour guide Massimo also provided the best linear history of Rome ( and surrounds). Thanks, I enjoyed my day and learned a lot

Doing what: Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
This is a fantastic trip. Pompeii is incredible and there is so much to see. You will not get to see it all, but our guide, Nicola, showed us a lot of the key areas. He did a great job providing a lot of the key annecdotes about the place too. Also, you need to see the size of the Lemons they have at the fruit stands near the entrance. They are almost the size of a person's head. Climbing Mt. Vesuvius requires you to be in reasonable shape. Many points on the trail are close to a 45 degree angle and it is a long way up. The bus will park in the center of the old crater which blew up all over Pompeii and you will climb the new small crater that comes up from the center. There are stops for bathroom and snack breaks about mid-way between Rome and Naples. Lunch is served at a restaurant near Pompeii. You get a salad and pizza (Margarite style or Bianca which is Prosciutto and cheese). The trip is a long day, but you do get multiple chances to rest. Tour pickup was in the center of Piazza del Popolo at the Obelisk (tower structure). We took a taxi to get there and back to our hotel, but there is a Metro station nearby (Flaminio).
