We did the 6hr tour and it was the best part of our Rome trip by far. My only regret is that we didn't do the other two available bike tours as well. If I had it to do all over again I would start with the Rome City Bike Tour, then do the Panoramic Bike Tour, and then the Ancient Appian Way, Catacombs and Roman Countryside Tour...maybe twice! It was that good, and so worth the money. The quality of the bikes provided was outstanding which made the ride very smooth, but for the cobblestones! We lucked out on a day with perfect weather. The views at Aquaduct Park are phenomenal, it was just gorgeous. I would probably not bring smaller children along or adults not in decent shape since it is 30km, but it really was broken up nicely by the guided stops, so don't let the length keep you from this experience. My son's and I met such nice people on our tour, and our guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and easy to understand. While waiting for our tour to begin we spoke to other guides returning from tours and they all seem really great. I think you cannot go wrong with this group. I highly recommend this tour!!

This was the highlight of highlights on a wonderful week in Rome. The night before there was the mother of all thunderstorms over the city. The result was that when we Brits checked in at Top Bikes Rome we found that everyone else had cried off. We had our guide Riccardo to ourselves. The ride through the city was much easier than we anticipated as Riccardo made good use of crossings, lanes, the odd cycle way and parks. The Appian Way was great - with sites of ancient aristocratic estates with, in the case of Maxentius, a private version of the 'Circus Maximus'. What really took my breath away was cycling under a bridge to see the ruins of an amazing aqueduct which took water into the ancient city from distant hills. The riding is leisurely, only 20 miles in 6 hours. There are stops for visits to Catacombs and to enjoy wine and cheese at a C15 farm. The bikes were very good - of a higher standard than our own.

This tour had it all:
- a pleasant, knowledgeable guide
- a relaxed ride on easy-to-pedal bicycles (no major hills)
- all of the major sites
- visits to lesser known parts of the city that we wouldn't ordinarily see
- easy on the legs (sure beats walking!)
Lorenzo, our guide, knows the city as a long time citizen, mixing a personal perspective with a lifetime of knowledge.
For anyone who can pedal a bike (we're in our fifties) this a great way to get a broad perspective of Rome without wearing out your legs.
Highly Recommended!

Perfect way to see the city! Our family of five (kids ages: 8, 11 and 13) loved it and asked that we start touring all cities on bikes. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave us time at each site to take photos and ask questions. We went on mostly pedestrian roads and when we did need to go on a busier road, one of the guides (there were 3 for our group of 7 people) rode on the outside, beside the children. The bikes were fantastic- everyone came home wanting a new bike (including my husband). Even though it was a four hour tour, none of us were tired when we finished-- there were only a few times I even needed to switch gears, the ride was almost completely flat.

This was a brilliant start to my trip to Rome. I was travelling alone so decided to book this tour to meet some people and see Rome in a unique way. Unfortunately, when I arrived there was no one else signed up for the tour! Luckily I had a fantastic tour guide. I think being the only one on the tour actually made the experience even better. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and I was able to listen carefully and ask questions whenever I wanted to. The tour was adapted slightly that morning but the tour guide was flexible and asked me what I would like to see. The four-hour bike ride went by really quickly and I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is keen to explore Rome and learn at the same time!

Can't recommend this tour highly enough. Family of four we did the 30km Appian Way ride with Bruno. He was fun and informative and very safety conscious so even though part of the ride was among the traffic in central Rome we felt confident with our early teens children. Route very interesting. Booked through Viator who messed up over what was included but Topbike honoured what was printed on our voucher. Best day of our week in Rome

This tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Italy. Having not been on a bike in close to 40 years, I was concerned that the bike tour might be better suited for someone in better physical condition. While quite challenging in some places (i.e., steep hills), I believe this was an excellent way to see areas of Rome only accessible by bike. Our guide, Federico was absolutely fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the various sites we visited, and spoke perfect English. The group's ride on Easter Sunday was met with perfect weather in Rome. We spent close to six hours riding the Appian Way out into the Roman countryside, stopping at various points of interest along the way, including lunch at Casale della Vaccareccia. The memory of this bike tour will last a lifetime! And, thanks to Federico of Top Bike Tours, my interest in cycling has been rekindled. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! Do not be put off by the distance traveled on the tour; there are plenty of opportunities to make rest stops and take in the wonderful scenery!

We had a great time! The 22-gear bikes made any hill easily climbed. It was great fun to ride through the narrow streets of the Trastevere area where we ate amazingly delicious cannoli.

Awesome bike tour! Very professional, informative, and the tour covered a lot of Rome, helping us plan the rest of our time in the area. We loved our time with Bruno who has an obvious passion for history; he also kept us very safe during our ride. Thank you for a great time!

Thanks Manuel for a great 4 hour ride around Rome! The highlight of my visit.
I was a bit apprehensive to start with riding on the 'wrong' side of the road and on a bike that had 48 gears!! Mine has 3!!
Manuel made sure I was comfortable with the situation before starting out and what fun it was!

What a great way to see the outskirts of Rome and experience rural life. The bike ride was well mapped out to accommodate the busy streets of Rome. The stop at the farm was a real treat - excellent host, wine and delicious cheese. Matt was the best guide we could have had.

Our guide was great. Not the easiest place to guide tourists on bikes around on but he made us comfortable and safe. We loved it. The views, cobbled streets, and friendly guide made a memorable time in Rome. Thank you.

We enjoyed the bike tour. We got a great overview of the city and how to get around for the rest of our time in Rome. The city streets were very hectic, but we felt safe with our guide.

This bike tour is absolutely great! Don't worry if you're a little nervous as the pace is slow and the guide keeps a regular check on everyone. I'd say I'm quite confident on a bike but dread climbing hills. The bikes are great - using the gears make it an easy ride to the top. My friend was a little shaky on the bike but he absolutely loved it. The groups are small and you avoid traffic and busy places for the most part. We spent our last afternoon in Rome doing this tour and I must say this is the perfect way to see Rome as you visit a lot of the main attractions!
