Outdoor Adventure Tours from Rotorua

Explore 30 million year old limestone formations and a cave full of glowworms in Waitamo Caves. Those who fancy something a little more thrilling don’t have to go too far. Like black water rafting into the Black Abyss or Labyrinth. Helicopter flights take you over lakes, forest and the volcanic fault line, some flying over an active volcano.

Ready for more extreme adventures? Go white-water rafting on the Kaituna River through a narrow gorge with sheer rock walls, or take the easier Rangitaiki River.  Alternatively, try skydiving into a Rotorua paddock, or a 4WD bush safari,  negotiating waterfalls, daunting lunges and tunnels along beautiful  native rainforest trails. Hang on as you are driven over impossible terrain on the Rotorua 4X4 10-minute thrill ride, climbing and descending near vertical slopes.

Or do the Zorb, a large inflatable plastic bubble that you ride in down a hill - totally addictive and unmissable. The Agroventures complex offers five separate ways to bring back your lunch. The tamest and oddest is the Shweeb- a cross between cycling and travelling by monorail. You’re enclosed in a pod hanging from the track, and pedal around for three laps as fast as you can. The Agrojet claims to be New Zealand’s fastest jet boat, while The Bungy and The Swoop are practically guaranteed to leave you trembling as you’re dropped from a great height. Then there’s the Freefall Xtreme, which bizarrely engineers the precise opposite of falling. Hooked on adrenaline? Try the luge - a three-wheel cart ridden down a hill gathering speed as you go. Or the skyswing - high and fast! A great view of Rotorua and its lake is the payoff for the sheer fear.

The locals are mad for an adrenaline rush, but their country is just mad and beautiful and unique.

A great day with a great driver. Certainly worth while doing. Door to door service. Driver very informative and friendly.

Doing what: Skydive Rotorua

One of the most incredible experiences of my life so far. The scariest moment was when we were about to jump off the plane...once we jumped it was fabulous. The tandem divers are awesome and the photographer did an amazing job with the photographs and the videos. They even picked and dropped us back to our hotel. A MUST DO in Rotorua. Best height is 12000ft.
