I have always wanted visit Eagles Nest and I wasn't disappointed. It was a beautiful warm day and riding in the elevator up to what is now a restaurant and seeing the spectacular views, Eva Brauns room with the soaring mountains all around, I found it stunning. We were so lucky, the next day there was no tour due to bad weather! After Eagles Nest we had lunch in Berchtesgaden which is a really pretty traditional small town and then we visited the Salt mines, rode a train down into the mine. had a boat ride with light show on an underground salt lake and had a couple of HUGE slide rides down to another level of the mine. Great day tour and one that I would recommend.

We did both the trips in one day and it was the best thing we did. The tours were well organised and guides were informative ( salt mine) and entertaining (sound of music). We had enough time to enjoy the tours

Great tour. Saw the many sights from the movie and sang along. Tour guide was a lot of fun. Even though it was pouring rain, it was a great tour.

Wonderful, well organized and managed by the tour guide. Sharing of facts and information from the tour guide was done excellently. An absolutely must to see!

We had such a great time. Eagle's Nest was awesome. The views from a top of the mountain were breathtaking. From start to finish we enjoyed our tour. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. I would recommend this trip to everyone. I am looking for to traveling and booking more tours with this company.

Walter helped to make this tour very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he passed on all his knowledge superbly.

This was a very interesting tour! The tour guide was informative and funny. The drive to the salt mine was spectacular. I would recommend this to anyone who has 4 hours to kill while in Salzburg. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the tour seemed slightly rushed (in the mine) and I had no time to explore the gift shop afterwards. Another 15 minutes in the gift shop would have been nice. But overall, great tour!

What a great tour!! The salt mines with the miner's slides and boat ride on the lake in the mine were fantastic. The small town of Bertchesgaden was beautiful. Eagle's Nest was ok. There was a nice view all around. I would have given 5 stars but we didn't have time for the boat ride on Lake Konigsee. Guide was very knowledgeable with a good sense of humor.

The Salt Mines trip was fun! Interactive in that you get to ride a train, barge and slides. Only in German so headsets provide a little commentary but you miss a lot of explanation.

Sound of Music trip had a GREAT tour guide who was informative and funny Name was Peter? Other than that, trip is worthless. You get to see sites from far away and spend a lot of time on the bus. I would NOT recomend the Sound of Music tour. And I loved the movie!!

Hosting was good with sufficient free time to take photos and enjoy atmosphere

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

Very disappointing. You are quickly guided through the salt mines. There is no chance to read displays. Also the guide is in german which is fine because they give you an audio set (which comes in multiple languages). The only problem was that it didn't work at many of the stops so it was hard to understand what we were looking at. The slide and the salt lake were pretty cool. I wouldn't recommend this tour. There are much more interesting things to see during your time in Salzburg such as the Ice Caves.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better Review by neil m, October 2012
Doing what: Bavarian Mountains and Salt-Mines Tour from Salzburg

Obviously directed at an older age-group with large bus etc. The salt mine itself was interesting and educational. The Bavarian town was a nice lunch spot - eating at "Adams" was nice. The Eagles Nest component was disappointing as only went to the bus station and only seen from a distance - the information provided in the tour description was misleading in this regard.

Excellent! These two tours were very big, around 40 tourists, but the tour guides were very experienced and orgnized everything very well.
