While Los Angeles has Hollywood and star-appeal, San Diego is Southern California at its big-city finest. America's gateway to Mexico, San Diego lies at the end of miles and miles of sandy coastline which span the glittering Pacific. Here are tips for making the most of a San Diego visit.
Day 1: San Diego City Tour
San Diego is a big city, but the canny traveler need not worry. Luckily, the ocean to your west makes a fine geographic go-to point, and eases any orientation difficulties. Still, with all that you’ll be doing in the upcoming days, consider getting settled into your host city with a guided Hop-on, Hop-off Trolley Tour, or add the harbor to your itinerary by way of bus and harbor cruise, or orient yourself by sticking to simply the most famous San Diego sights.
Day 2: San Diego Adventure
While visits to all the various theme parks and activities that San Diego has to offer could take up all three days and then some, it would be a shame to miss all of the excitement available. With so many activities to choose from, it's no wonder they call San Diego the Orlando of the West. Start your day off with a morning sea kayak through the La Jolla Caves, or ease into your day with a San Diego Champagne Brunch Cruise. If you'd like to continue to take it easy today, consider a Segway through San Diego's trendy Gaslamp district.
Day 3: Day Trips From San Diego
San Diego abuts the Mexican border and Tijuana. If you're inclined, don't miss out on all the exciting opportunities to explore the southern Californian coast and indeed beyond. A Baja Wine tour is a distinct pleasure for wine-lovers and explorers alike. Ensenada is a relaxing alternative to busy Tijuana. Don't want to go further south, but instead have an itching to see what Hollywood is about? Consider a day trip to Universal Studios and see all the behind the scenes magic of Tinseltown.

Excellent service, prompt, clean, interesting. Drivers gave a good narrative bit bit put off by those who told you at the end of every sentence that they accept tips. The more professional drivers never mentioned tips. Enjoyed all stops especially Old Town which was like the Wild West.
