Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

The CityPass saved me a fortune in just cable car rides alone! Easy to use with some excellent attractions.

CityPass was great to use. Very handy on public transport. Suggest cannot use CityPass in full if there for less than 5 days as so many other natural sights to see. Had three vouchers left however worked out that using Muni, Cable Car,, Cruise and Aquarium, we did not lose money despite not using pass in full.

The most obvious choice when travelling to San Franciso. Considering the prices of the cable car has gone up to $6 each ride this pays for itself. The Aquarium is awesome and for $5 you can up upgrade to the speed boat instead of the the boat tour. Worth every penny!

You just can't miss. We definitely used the transit pass enough to pay for the entire booklet (at $6 a cable car ride), meaning the other things were all icing. And what icing! Spent 5 hours at the Academy of Sciences, loved the Aquarium and Exploratorium, enjoyed the nearly obligatory cruise of the Bay, and made sure to take advantage of $20 off the incredible Go Car tour experience. Seriously hundreds of dollars of value for the $69 we spent per. Absolutely essential starting point for a SF trip!

Bus pass was awesome, cable car costs $5 each time. Didn't go in to Academy of Science as it was free Wednesday and huge lines. Loads of kids at Exploratorium and Aquarium. Boat cruise excellent. Some of these places are far far away, espec by bus. Long walks where there is no bus. Good value.

Excellent value for money especially if you are travelling with children. My 13 year old son loved all the attractions offered. Plus the savings were enormous if you take into account that every cable car ride costs 6 dollars per person!!

Totally touristy and totally fun. Really amazing riding the hills of San Francisco on a jittery old cable car. Thought we were going to die, and I mean that as a high compliment,

Here's another great thing to do in San Francisco, totally iconic and a lot of fun. The main thing to avoid is going at peak hours, when the lines are long. And avoid boarding at the terminus (instead - hop on midway along the route).

I usually tell people to ride the cable cars around 6 or 7pm, when most SF visitors aren't! Then you're on the car with mostly locals who actually use these for local transport.

My favorite ride - the cable car line along California Street. The views are amazing.

Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

Worth every penny since we rode the cable cars, MUNI buses and F line streetcars numerous times. Skipping the lines at the California Academy of Sciences and the SFMOMA saved us some time to enjoy the exhibits more. We were also able to see Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne and Beyond Exhibit at the De Young Museum with special ticket prices (would have been much better if it was free with city pass, but considering that we saw priceless works of art from musee d'orsay, paying 15 dollars each was quite a discount...) I would recommend buying the city pass. The only downside is that you have to figure out on your own what mode of transportation or bus/cable car/streetcar you should ride because the MUNI rides have their own routes. City Pass lists all rides that will pass each attraction but you should have a MUNI map with you with all the routes at all times. For example, from Market St/Union Square area, you cannot ride the 44 bus which stops directly in front of the academy. Instead, we had to ride the 5 bus and walk about 2 blocks more to get there. Study the MUNI routes first before your trip so you could manage your time easily with regards to travel time to each attraction.

One of the best buys of our trip. We made full use of the muni travel jumping on the cable car and other forms of transport as we wished. The free entry to the various attractions and the free boat trip were well worth while.

Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

The City Pass was well worth its value with many valuable sights to see and places to visit while in the San Francisco area. Because parking in certain areas of San Francisco can be so difficult, we really enjoyed taking advantage of the unlimited use of the Muni public transportation, cable car and trolley car. It certainly made getting around the city easy.

Our family of 6 did everything in the book plus the Muir Woods with Alcatraz visit. We didn't have to reach into our pocket every time we went into a museum or took a cable car ride. It saved us money and we all had fun! Ages 7-63.

Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

The City Pass allowed us to travel extensively throughout the city of San Francisco. We particularly enjoyed the cable car rides. As each ride costs $5 one way, I highly recommend getting this pass. We also made use of the streetcars.

Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

The CityPass was an excellent deal and it is something that every traveler to SF should invest in. The Aquarium of the Bay was less than stellar but the MOMA and Cal Academy of Sciences made up for it. We were a little disappointed that the Tutankhamen exhibit was extra at the deYoung. The MUNI pass was a great deal and allowed us to avoid the expense of a rental. Be prepared to wait in line for a cable car. Print the MUNI map from the web site and work with your hotel concierge to maximize the use and savings. We also used the discounted ticket to the AT&T Park Tour and it was excellent.

Doing what: San Francisco CityPass

The CityPass made our trip! We definitely got our money's worth with the bus and trolley pass alone. We were able to go to all the attractions included, which made for a great value and took the stress out of waiting in lines and trying to buy tickets or figuring what activity to do. I would suggest that anyone who purchases this to do the Science Museum first, the lines are long and with small kids you could spend a whole day so go early in the morning and definitely do the Exploritorium! But the boat ride through the bay was a highlight for me and my teenage daughter! The aquarium was okay, but if it hadn't been included we wouldn't have gone. It is too expensive for what you get otherwise, and skip the cable car line, walk up Hyde street a few blocks and just jump on! So glad I found this online!
