Our tour guide was Andy through Extranomical Tours. He was very knowledgeable, fun, and laid-back. We arrived at Muir Woods before the crowds got there, which was nice so that we could peacefully enjoy the park. We went to 3 wineries in the Sonoma and Napa valleys. The first winery only offered 1 free wine to taste - had to pay for any other tastings. The second and third wineries let you try basically any wine that was available to buy. We ate lunch in the town of Sonoma, which has several good restaurants/eateries. On our way back to San Francisco, we stopped on a hill overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco - such a great view! Overall, it was great to experience a redwood forest and see what wine country in CA is all about! Nice day trip!
excellent, we were the first tour group at muir woods and the experience was breathtaking, the silence was beautiful, about half hour later the flood gates opened and then everyone ruined what was so perfect, the wineries were nice and our tour guide was very knowledgeable , overall worth every penny
We loved our trip to Muir Woods and Wine Country Tour. Very scenic relaxing ride to get there. Mark was our tour guide and did a wonderful job, very funny and knowledgeable. We found it easy to book this tour and it was well organized. Mark was a pleasure and we had a very fun group.

Excellent tour. Informative. Entertaining. Both Muir Woods, the wine and Mark - our tour guide.
Don´t miss it if your´re doing any sightseeing.
Great trip combineing the Muir Woods and Salsolito. Entertaining and informative, with just about the right amount of time in both places
wow excellent tour our guide was great we had a great time alcatraz is a must see the muir woods was a blast
My wife and I had a great time; Muir Woods is particularly amazing. Booking through Viator was easy, and all of the staff associated with the tour were very friendly, helpful and professional. All my wife and I had to do was enjoy ourselves.
Muir Woods is beautiful, breathtaking and really fills you with awe. The tour was well run, on time and really informative. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and lots of fun, making for a great trip to the park and Sausalito. A longer stay in the woods would be welcome, but the short in the park was definitely a highlight. This is highly recommended. Also, the option of staying in Sausalito was fantastic. Well worth the extra time to explore, shop, eat and head back to the City via the Golden Gate Bridge.
This was a wonderful trip with a wonderful driver, Ken, who was kind, entertaining, and extremely personable. He gave much information about the Muir woods , as well as many other observations along the way.
The only complaint was the bus was rather small with not too much leg room.
75 minutes in the Muir Woods was just the right amount of time.
Enjoyed our tour of Muir Woods in the middle of April - not crowded at all and it gave an aura of peace and tranquility. It really is something you need to do if you enjoy the beauty and awe of the redwoods.
Our trip to Sausilito had only enough time for either lunch or a quick look around and because it was lunch time we opted to eat. Found a great hole in the wall that had a hidden outdoor patio that served the best fresh roast beef sandwiches(on a wonderful fresh homemade roll) you could ask for. My husband and I should have shared just one as we couldn't eat the whole sandwich. Friendly staff as well.
Alcatraz was very interesting and the audio supplied gave you a good historical overview with clear sound. It was more than just a prison with families living there as well with flower and vegetable gardens.
The tour bus picked you up at your hotel or a hotel close to where you were staying (for us a VRBO) and dropped you off at the same spot although we elected to stay on Alcatraz somewhat longer and made our own way back to our lodgings. Driver was friendly, gave good clear instructions and information on sites we were passing. Would have rated it a 5 except for the time restraint of 1 hr in Sausilito. It did give us a taste of the town though and we went back on our own. Was well organized and would certainly recommend it.
Well organised and nice itinerary. Muir Woods gave time for a nice walk in park and lunch at Sausalito was a nice break. Alcatraz tour worked in well with the other tour to make a great days touring.
The Muir Woods were absolutely stunning = would like to have spent longer here it was so beautiful. The wine tours were mostly interesting but the best one (Gloria Ferrer in Sonoma) was first and we didn't buy anything which we regretted. The tour guide was great throughout and it wasn't his fault that the wines were generally a little disappointing (to our tastes at least) and not as many on offer as the tour resume indicated (5 to 10 at each winery was stated but it was 1 at the first 4 at the second and 5 at the last), But it is beautiful countryside and landscape throughout the tour and we got some fantastic shots of the Golden Gate Bridge on the way back in to San Francisco.
I loved Muir Woods! I would definitely recommend going there. Sausalito was kind of boring, but maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea. I expected the town to be much nicer. We walked around for 15-20 minutes and then were bored. Our driver was funny and knew a lot of interesting facts. I would recommend this tour.
