Often overlooked as the big little brother to San Francisco, there’s actually an awful lot going on in San Jose and the savvy traveler will know that this city is not to be overlooked. Located just south of Mountain View and Milpitas, San Jose has seen a steady rise in tourism in recent years, due partly to the efforts of recent developers and city planners, due also in part to the excellent eateries and wonderful natural weather.

One of the oldest natural wonders and main attractions to the area is the Winchester Mystery House. Though it may seem to be kitschy at first blush, the house itself harks back to the madness of the Winchester widow and her 38 year obsession with building, tearing-down, and re-building this sprawling mansion, which is now full of odd angles, curios, and flat out dimensional oddities – as well as a history lesson or two.
