VIDEO BLOG: Whiskey Tour in Scotland

If you’re a fan of Scotland’s signature amber restorative, the 4-day Islay Whisky Tour from Glasgow come highly recommended. If you’re not (and here one is tempted to admonish the skeptical), then by all means leave the glorious casks of blessed liquid to the rest of us.

Veterans of the tour will tell you that a large part of the pleasure in partaking in a version of the following itinerary is the distinctive scenery (including sweeping seaside vistas and arresting castle ruins), and bracing environs that punctuate a tour of the island’s distilleries. Along the way, you’ll pass the town of Inveraray, Loch Lomond and Loch Fyne. You’ll pass sandy strips of beach and indulge in pleasant strolls down coastal paths. You’ll sample the wares at a local oyster farm, and mix up the parade of imbibing by stopping off for a flight of ales at one of the island’s better breweries.
