Free Things to Do in Seoul
Ornate palaces, temples, sprawling markets, art districts and world-class museums…Seoul is a traveler’s paradise. In a city with so many attractions, you’ll have your pick of free things to do so you can save up your money to splurge on other things. Here are some of the best free things to do in South Korea‘s capital city.

Picnic on the Han River

Besides being the most important river in South Korea, the Han (Hangang) River has well-groomed pedestrian and biking trails on either side as it passes through Seoul. On a warm day, bring a picnic lunch — perhaps some kimbap and kimchi — and spend the day basking in the sun.

National Folk Museum of Korea
For a good introduction into Korean culture and a look at what daily life was like for Korean families of yore, take advantage of the free admission to the National Folk Museum of Korea. The 150,000-piece collection includes fine art, Buddhist sculptures, archeological relics and life-size dioramas showing how people in Korea used to live.
