Very nice trip, beautiful beautiful beautiful. Snorkeling was fantastic, very nice staff at the boat, well trained and was looking after us all the time. Food reasonable, drinks just a few bottles of coke and water in the fridge. But this experience is not about the food at the end. A bit dissapointed with picking up from the hotel, we were picked up first and had to travel all around while they pick up other people. And once we arrived the guy who picked us up just jumped from the car and we never saw him again. I was expecting some instructions from him like where I have to wait or who will pick us up, but no, you have to go and find it our for yourself. So for the money payed I would expect a bit more attention to the customer from a different country.
This was the second time I have done this tour with Viator, and sadly the 1st time was much better. Although this tour was still enjoyable it was heavily let down by the guide who had come along with us. During my previous camel safari, the guide had stayed with us at all times and gave us more information about the Bedoins and their lifestyle than I could have imagined there was to know. However the second time I got a guide who was more interested in talking to the other guides and his Bedoin friends than giving us any information. This wasn't so bad for me as it was my second time on this tour and the previous guide had been so good, however my Fiance hadn't done this tour before so for him this was even more disappointing. At times our guide was no-where in sight which was a little disconcerting. Sadly after this second experience I probably would not recommend this tour to other people as it has gone downhill from where it was a year ago.
It was not very clear that tourist can't land on the Island. Anyway, I did not touch water, so I was only an spectator on the boat.

Fabulous day, very attentive staff and good lunch. As a novice snorkeller I was given all the assistance required. What could be better than a day snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing under the Egyptian sun.
Me and my fiancee really enjoyed the camel ride and spend time with bedouin. The guy from Aviator (apologise can't remember his name) was really friendly and kind. He gave us lots of information about the beouins' s life style. We took some amazing photos while we were there. I really recommend a trip a like that.
What super value, six and half hours at sea, three snorkel stops with lunch/ drinks included, from and to Hotel pickup in with the price !!!!!!
Once you book this trip, you then need to contact an Egyptian tour operator to arrange a pick-up from your hotel. We experienced some degree of trouble doing this, but finally received a fax to say we would be collected at 8am the next day but to be there 20mins earlier. Our pick-up finally arrived at 8.30, then when we arrived at the jetty at 9am, we were sat there waiting for another hour and a half before we finally got on our boat. At the first site it was all rather disorganised with the guide continually whistling and shouting for us to follow him, which led to 30+ people jostling together and myself getting kicked several times, and a whack in the face with a stray elbow. After that, the day greatly improved, with us being allowed to do what we generally wanted at the other 2 sites. Lunch was OK, and there were always drinks available. We did see some dolphins, which was a real high-light, and the boat was not over-filled so there was plenty of room for everyone. Once we arrived back, it was straight on the mini-van and back to the hotel - though our driver did stop in the road for a few minutes to chat to his mate who had parked up his van. Having experienced this trip, I think I would rather have spent a little bit more money and booked through my travel agency, if only for the peace of mind. However, for the price we paid, it was satisfactory.
The trip itself was ok. But firstly, because the website hasn't been updated for some reason or other, it is not actually a trip to Ras Mohamed when we went in Jan 2011. We were told by the tour company that Ras Mohamed was closed to snorkellers and the trip would be to Tiran Island itself. I personally did not have a problem with that, though others expecting to go to Ras Mohamed specifically might.
Also, where the minibus first drops everyone off to conduct administrative work (cannot remember, it wasn't where the boats departed and there was a beach there for suntanning). Located there is a snorkel gear hire booth, who will tell you that you there is no gear for hire on the boat once you get on. Where the boats leave (short drive away round the block where you will be dropped off later), there are in fact 2 shops that hire out snorkelling gear for 30-40% less. Not that big a deal, given snorkel gear hire is relatively cheap, just pointing the fact out.
The only thing that was a slight annoyance, is that we sat around for far too long at the pier where they were sorting out admin work. We were there for close to an hour, and then slight wait again for boarding at the docking pier.
We had an absolutely amazing experience with this tour! Being brand new to Snorkelling and terrified of the sea I did cry when first getting into the water, the team were fantasic and really helped me. By the last snorkeling spot I was jumping off the boat into the water!
Food was fantastic and crew were great and really got involved, showing us a map of where we where and a range of fish we were likely to see. Only one slight issue we had was the bus was late to pick us up and that was purely the fault of another passenger who couldn't find their passport!! Couldn't rate this tour any higher!!
Amazing trip, we took our little girl who is only three and she sat on the camel with me - the whole experience was just out of this world. Dinner was amazing, people were so welcoming! Would recommend its no cheaper in Egypt!
We booked this online the day before the trip and by that evening we had a fax to the hotel with pick up details and contact info. Transport to the marina was fine, bit chaotic at the port but that was more reflective of the volume of people there. We were on the 'Cinderella' boat. Very clean and comfortable with foam mattresses and seats. The staff were pleasant, enthusiastic and could not do enough for us. Lunch was delicious. The snorkelling was amazing and Ras Mohammed a must of you like the water. The variety of fish and coral was fantastic including rays. Guides in the water kept everybody right and a third watched from the boat. Currents can be stronger in some areas therefore would definitely recommend you hire flippers on the boat if you do not have them otherwise can be a tiring swim. Saying that, everyone from our boat was in the water and there were no issues. My mum got loads of support from one of the guides including giving her his mask when hers leaked. Buoyancy aids also available. Overall a great trip. Would definitely go again!
