Our guide Cecilia was great but I can't say the same for the way the tour is constructed. Dinner at Clarke Quay was a disappointing Chinese Banquet (about 5 dishes). Then we headed off to the harbour area. Nice to view but there was no stop for photos. Bugis night markets was next. The half hour given was sufficient to have a quick look but you can go to the markets during the day. It is not a "night only" market as it is open from 10 am to 10 pm daily. Now the Long Bar. I didn't choose to have a drink but was told by the guide that if I went to buy a sling from the bar, it would cost me S$32! The bar is not even in the original position. There was a band playing, which some may enjoy, but I found the music so loud, I could not talk with others. I recommend that you skip this tour. Go to Bugis during the day (a short walk from the city) and go to the Tiffin Room instead for high tea, or visit the Long bar during the day.

Doing what: Singapore by Night Tour with Dinner along Singapore River

Save your money. This was not worth doing in our opinion. The meal at Clarke Quay was terrible. Who comes to Singapore to eat at a very average Chinese meal? It was not what we expected. But our tour guide was lovely and the Raffles Hotel was gorgeous but the Bugis Market was pitifully woeful and not a good place to go. It was just filled with tons of cheap stalls and really not worth the trouble.

Doing what: Singapore by Night Tour with Dinner along Singapore River

We went to Clarke Quay and they gave us Chinese food. Go figure. Why not Malaysian or Peranakan? Then we drove around to raffles for a drink tour. Not a good tour. A bad value and waste of time.

Doing what: Raffles Hotel Singapore Half-Day Tour

Don't get me wrong, an afternoon tea at Raffles is superb and not to be missed. However, everything else is 'bitty' and seems as if it is bolted on just to make up the time. A 20 minute stop at a room in the museum, 5 minutes to photograph Raffles statue. It is NO longer a bumboat incidentally and the trip to Royal Selangor pewter works is little more than a whirlwind tour of their showroom at Clarke Quay. My advice would be to book afternoon tea direct with Raffles which leaves the afternoon free to do your own thing.

Doing what: Singapore by Night Tour with Dinner along Singapore River

The dinner at Clarke Quay didn't offer much variety for people who don't like seafood. The visit to Bugis Street night markets was not long enough for people who like markets. The drive across the Benjamin Shears Bridge to see the skyline at night was very nice. The visit to the Long Bar at Raffles was great and the Singapore Sling was delicious. You could probably do any of the above things yourself cheaper and at your own pace.
