Sports betting and traditional gambling are incredibly popular in Singapore. Locals tend to favor speculation over football and horse racing, as well as a specifically Singaporean variation of Mahjong. Tourists and high rollers, on the other hand, come to the city-state in droves to avail themselves of the glitzy, Vegas-style casinos recently erected along the banks of the Singapore River.
