Skagway Cruise Port

Nowadays Skagway is a scenic Alaskan cruise port, but 100 years ago it was the rough and ready gateway to the gold fields of the Klondike. The gold-era history is tangible in Skagway, where downtown’s restored buildings form part of the Klondike ...

The tour was great, and Bill was an excellent guide. He was incredibly knowledgable about the local area, wildlife, flora and fona. He really took his time as we slowly made our way up and down the terrain, and he made sure we paused long enough to enjoy the scenery. He was also very safety concious. He really made the trip for us. My wife and I ended up being the only two guests on the tour which made it even better.

Where to begin! Bob was the perfect guide, from the grand history of the region, to the smallest details on the trail and on the water, he left no stone unturned. His enthusiasm for the region, and for sharing his wealth of knowledge on the same was intoxicating. It was an amazing experience to say the least. We plan on returning to experience more of the Chilkoot region in the very near future, and will recommend this tour to all we know.
Thank You so much

Brooke was a great tour guide and the entire excursion was lots of fun. An excellent look into a part of the world that very few people get to see and experience.

We had a fantastic and memorable day. A big thank you to Mike who met us promptly and was enthusiastic and knowledgeable throughout and he made extra stops to allow us to take photographs. A nice stop for lunch, the vegetarian option was excellent which can be a problem sometimes on trips. We will certainly use Viator again.

We had a fantastic experience with the skagway shore excursion. We missed the bust tour as I forgot our passports and had to return to the ship to retrieve them. The ground tour guide (Tyler) sent the bus off. Then he personally took the four of us in his 4X4 drive. It was incredible. Had a reat memorable time. Thankyou definately recommend.

We had a small group of 8 which was perfect for the ride to the Yukon border and beyond. The driver guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The small group allowed up to make a few extra stops and enjoy the wonderful landscape and sights.

We enjoyed the trip and narration of points of interest by the driver. We were fed a delicious meal soon after arrival. We then toured the grounds at our leisure and were informed of different things in life of those old time gold miners. We enjoyed a short performance and then made our fortune gold panning by finding about 3 thin flecks. The history of Liarsville was explained along the way. Great scenery.

It was a beautiful sunny day and therefore a spectacular drive. Our driver told us lots about the area as we drove and stopped at many places for us to get the perfect pictures. Lovely way to see the city and the surrounding mountain beauty.

The guide was excellent, informative and funny. The photo stops for beautiful scenery were perfect, the farm we ended up at was great for lovers of animals and we had a fun dog sled ride. With luck on our side on the return journey, we stopped to watch and takes photos of a grizzly brown bear, only a few feet away from us.

Very fun, easy hike. Great for taking pictures, especially on the river. Amazing views!!! The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The hike is about 1.8 miles, which is not very difficult, and the river float was about 40-50 minutes. Got some snacks at the end too! Some uphill walking involved, but with plenty of breaks to catch your breath. I would say this is a good tour for people who are beginners at hiking :)
