Very nice tour. Our guide gave us a lot of history of Slovenia. The caves and castle were great. I wish the tour would have stopped at a local restaurant for lunch though.
We found our trip into Postojna Caves fascinating, the sheer size and vastness of the caves was amazing. The train journey was fun. Predjama Castle is one-of-a-kind, we have seen many castles on various trips but never one built into a cliff! Well worth a visit.
I was so impressed that, a;though I was the only participant, the trip went ahead. My guide, Bine Avgustin, was one of the best guides that I have ever had. He was obviously passionate about his country and its wonderful sites. He was extremely professional. I thank him and would recommend him widely.
The caves are definitely more interesting than the castle which is something extra to kill the time.
The caves were interesting but pretty crowded. Be aware that it is cold during the train ride. I did love the castle thanks to our tour guide.
We had a wonderful trip to the Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle on June 22nd 2011. We were 2 of a small group of 5 which in itself was excellent. Our guide, Tomasz, collected us from our hotel punctually and he was entertaining, engaging and very knowledgeable throughout the trip displaying great enthusiasm for his profession. The caves are simply stunning - never seen anything quite like them and maybe never will again! The castle is beautiful with such a dramatic setting and surprisingly larger that I expected. I would highly recommend this joint tour to anyone visiting Slovenia, especially if you only have time to make one organised tour. These 2 jewels are perhaps a little difficult to accomplish independently without your own transport whereas many other destinations in Slovenia do not have this issue. A great tour - a great guide - hvala lepa! :)
The tour company honoured my booking, even though I was the only participant. My tour guide was welcoming, friendly and had fantastic knowledge about the country's sights and its history. I would highly recommend them just for that. The actual tour itself was fantastic. Postojna Caves are definitely worth visiting and are quite spectacular. The viator guide hands over the commentary to the managers of the caves and this is informative and well organised, however the Viator tour guide also provides a lot of background information not covered by the cave guides. Predjama castle was equally fascinating with the story behind its development told in great detail with a nice touch of humour. These are excellent places to visit with an excellent tour guide company.
The train ride into the caves starts the fun, and then I was dazzled by the cave itself! It was one of the most beautiful caves that I have been in! The castle at Predjama was interesting but I have seen better. Although, it was in a very scenic area. Thomas was our guide on this tour as well and he was great!
Guide was very knowledgable and helpful not only on the places we visited but on slovenia in general.
1 Our guide, Peter was a very good, friendly guide. 2 It was tough to visit Predjama by oneself. 3 Misterious! I love Caves.
