We had a great day at the Alhambra Palace and gardens. It is a beautiful place rich in history and it was definitely worth the money to go with our guide Pepe and learn about the place and to hear his entertaining stories. It was very busy there but it ran smoothly and was really well organised.
Very good tour. Great that the group split into language groups and we didn't have to hear the same information in 4 different languages. Our guide put a lot of energy into giving us detailed information and showing us every corner of the Alhambra and gardens. 30 minutes free time in the middle of the tour was much appreciated as the pace was fast moving and the day very hot.
If you'd like to see the Alhambra but don't otherwise plan to visit Granada, this is a good option. Having the Alhambra tickets arranged for you is particularly useful, as tickets can sell out well in advance. The guide at the Alhambra was knowledgeable and personable, and kept to a good pace. There was a separate guide for the bus trip, who was friendly and provided interesting and amusing commentary along the way. The early start makes for a long day, although you return to Seville in plenty of time for dinner and a night out if you're keen. Hotel pickup was good (and very much appreciated first thing in the morning). The main negative was the visit to Granada itself. The bus dropped us off in a shopping precinct and our guide pointed out a couple of places to eat or shop, and asked us to meet back 2 hours later. I would have appreciated a short walking tour of the historical parts of Granada instead.
Well organized, with a well informed guide. Delivered what was promised. While more time is needed to thoroughly explore such a large collection of buildngs and gardens, this tour provides a very good overview of everything and a great first step for those who wish to explore on their own at a later time.
The guide at the Alhambra was passionate about his job and truly provided us with a wonderful tour.
The guide for the Julie tour company spoke in 4 different languages which was amazing but also took a bit of focus because he had lots of information.
The Julie Tour company did not contact us to tell we where to meet and what time to meet. We had to chase down the information plus the person did not speak English well. There was a big communication issue with them.
This trip was well-worth the money. To see the Alhambra in all its gorgeousness was a treat. This landmark is extremely popular in Spain so make sure to get your tickets ahead of time. The drive from Seville is somewhat long, but an iPod or reading material should hold you over. Also, the tour guide does stop about half way through for food and bathroom breaks. My only gripe would be that this is a guided tour through the Alhambra and your time is bound to the guide's tour so there really isn't time to explore the fortress and ground on your own. Make sure you stay with your guide too or you might get left behind. The driver of the tour bus is on a strict time table to arrive and leave Granada.
This tour is a must. I wouldn´t attempt to go to Alhambra without it. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what he does. What a wonderful historical opportunity.
A great day made special by the tour guide it would not have been the same with out him and the palace guide. it was a long day but with great memories and great photos
I cannot say enough about our guide, Carlos. He has a great deal of knowledge in the history and regions of Spain. He was always friendly and ready to answer any questions. We were sad to depart such a spectacular guide! Would also like to give kudos to Ramon, our driver. We had some serious weather and never did we feel endangered. He is a very professional driver and always greeted us with his big smile.
Wonderful, this is definitely a destination where you need a guid, and the guide provided by Viator was so informative and helpful. You are given free time before the guided tour, so you get best of both worlds.
Our Granada day trip from Malaga was somewhat disappointing and, sadly, much of it could have been avoided by better planning. We arrived at Alhambra at 10:00 but our English/German speaking guide was late meeting us. In addition, instead of passing out the audio earpieces on the coach we wasted 15 minutes distributing them after our guide finally showed up. So, 30 minutes were wasted standing near the entrance to Alhambra. Also, as the guide narrated both in English and in German, the amount of information he could convey was half of what a single-language guide could have covered. We saw the highlights at Alhambra but there was much we missed. Finally, we left Alhambra for the city of Granada at 1:30, which meant we got to the city about the time many shops, churches, etc. closed for siesta. The bus then left Granada for Malaga when these places reopened. It'd be better to start in town and end at Alhambra or simply spend all day at Alhambra. On a positive note, the guides knew their stuff and did a good job. But the trip could have been a lot better if the trip was reconfigured.
The trip was overall good, but some major problems which need to be reported. Our tour guide at the Alhambra was outstanding. The tour was wonderful. The bus tour guide was a different story. His total input on the way down was to point out the location of the Sierra Nevadas. This program says it picks you up and drops you off at your hotel, but it really does not. It makes you walk to and from a pick up and drop off point. So if this is important to you, beware. Moreover, we thought we would have a few hours to have lunch and to walk around Granada after the tour. Our bus tour guide told us this on the way down and told us we would come home around 8:30pm. However, after the tour, he told us the bus had to be back by 6:30pm and he gave us only 1 and 1/2 hour to have lunch and see the town. He blamed the lack of time on the tour guide taking us through the Alhambra saying she took too long! He made us walk 15 minutes (of that time) to get back to the bus in a totally different part of the city. It was very disappointing. If there are other sites you want to see in Granada, you will need more time than that! If I were to do this again, I would arrange my own transportation and tour guide at the Alhambra and save the money as this trip was way over priced as far as I was concerned.
Antonio was a terrific guide and his love of Granada and the Alhambra was apparant to all. We truly enjoyed our tour.
