In a state that is home to over a million alligators, it would be disappointing to take a trip there and never come face to face with one of the massive creatures. Luckily, the Alligator Farm Zoological Park provides a safe and fun way for you to get up close and personal with a Florida gator. Founded in 1893 by two men who collected alligators from nearby Anastasia Island, the park has become a must-see destination for anyone visiting the Sunshine State.
Today the park is home to over 20 species of crocodilians, as well as a variety of other reptiles, mammals, and birds. It is the only place in the world where you can see every species of alligator, crocodile, caiman, and gharial all under one roof. The park's beautiful white Mediterranean building hides the fearsome, yet fascinating creatures that reside within. Have fun taking the whole family for an afternoon of getting friendly with some crocs and gators!
