Doing what: Gros Piton Nature Trail Hike in St Lucia

This is a very challenging hike. The view at the top is not as great as what you will see about halfway up.

Doing what: St Lucia Shore Excursion: A Tour of St Lucia

Although there was a mix up over pick up and we had to ring to sort out the actual tour covered all the best bits of St Lucia and our driver Stan was both knowledgeable and good company.Overall a good trip

There was a delay( about 20 minutes) in the driver picking us up from the port but once he got going ther was no stopping him. He was very informtive and stopped alot so we could take pictures and show us local fruit and things. There was only 4 of us on the tour so it felt very personalized for us. The tour was supposed to last 4.5 hours and i think it was closer to almost 6. It was great, I would definately recommend this tour.

Doing what: St Lucia Shore Excursion: A Tour of St Lucia

The tour was lovely EXCEPT they did not pick us up at our tour cruise pier as we had reserved and re-confirmed. They were a no show and until a local information person helped us contact the tour agency, we were stuck!!!

Doing what: St Lucia Shore Excursion: A Tour of St Lucia

I recommend seeing all of the places on this tour, but beware that the roads wind through very steep hills and you may get stuck in the back of a van for ~3 hours. Wasn't a big deal for us as we were busy looking at all of the great sights and we don't get motion sickness, but near the end I was ready to get out. I could have done without the plantation tour and rather taken a mud bath at the volcano sight (which was very cool).

Doing what: St Lucia Shore Excursion: A Tour of St Lucia

Mostly good tour. Guide was very nice but too soft spoken and difficult to understand. We put my daughter up front to "interpert" for the rest of us. Didn't like that we had to tip every guides at every stop (botanical gardens and volcano) - seemed as though we already paid enough for the tour that it should have been covered - also the tip for the tour guide. There was no lunch stop or opportunity to get anything. If food not included, at least should have had the opportunity to purchase something along the way - I was glad I had some fruit and snacks with me. Description sounds like there will be a lunch stop at your expense but not the case, even when it was requested by one of the men on the tour. Otherwise, very nice tour - we saw a lot.

Doing what: Gros Piton Nature Trail Hike in St Lucia

This is a very, very challenging hike, but the reward upon finishing is fantastic and well worth the effort. The views are postcard perfect. The trail is very well marked, however, you are required to have a "guide". I think this is just so locals can make money, but I don't really have a problem with that. However, our guide basically led us up the trail, but did not share much information. I learned more about the trail and the mountain by reading about it before we even arrived in St. Lucia. There are some really good photo spots along the trail, including an incredible view of Petit Piton at the 1/2 mark. While the hike itself is pretty fantastic, it can be a very long drive (1.5-2 hrs) from areas of Castries or further north. It is a very winding and twisty road. Our tour driver never stopped for lunch, as listed, which was a huge negative since we were starving after hiking. At $130, this tour is way overpriced(especially without lunch), but if you are a hiker and you want great views, it might be worth the money.

Doing what: Gros Piton Nature Trail Hike in St Lucia

This was a great trip and definitely worth doing. What a different way to see St. Lucia! Along the trail there are many fabulous views, and the view from the top is incredible. The hike, however, is definitely advanced. You hike straight up for about two and a half hours over rocks and steep pathways. Make sure to take plenty of water and energy snacks!
