St. Lucia Cruise Port

St. Lucia is one of the most lush and unspoiled of the Caribbean islands. With its pristine beaches and well-protected rain forests, St. Lucia is the ideal spot for travelers looking to get away from it all. Botanical gardens, hidden waterfalls, and the world’s only drive-in volcano are some of the many attractions boasted by this island paradise.

How to Get to Castries
Cruise ships dock at Place Carenage or Pointe Seraphine. Both are within comfortable walking distance of downtown Castries. To truly take in the full beauty of the island, take a bus or cab outside the city (both are readily available downtown).

One Day in St. Lucia
You cannot visit St. Lucia without taking in the rain forest. Take it in from the ground level with a walking tour or from the sky with the unique aerial tram and zip line tour! Check out a rain forest canopy from a perspective few will ever experience.

Enjoy St. Lucia at sea on the Catamaran tour, which gives you opportunities to stop by the sulfur springs and a real 19th century coco plantation. Or have the comprehensive island experience with the St. Lucia day tour.

Port Information
English is the island’s official language, but many of the locals also speak Patois. The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the official currency, though most businesses accept American dollars. Be aware that buses on the island will wait until they are full before departing. So this may not be the best mode of transportation, if you’re crunched for time.

Eight of us, all over 50 years of age recenty did this tour. It was truly the highlight of our Carribean Cruise. Everyone at Lucian Style was so friendly and helpful. They made sure we were all comfortable on the segways before leaving on the trail tour. It was really pretty easy to learn and the sights were beautiful. They took pictures of us usng our own cameras and the fruit snacks were delicious and fresh. We also enjoyed the drinks at Miss Mary's shack although the drinks cost more than we planned (our fault....I guess we shud have asked). All the guys involved from Richard the manager to Shanga and the other two guides....this was a fun and memorable way to spend time in beautiful St. Lucia.

We had a terrific time on this tour. Sammy, our driver, was fun and friendly, filling us in on all the interesting sites and history of St. Lucia. In our van of 7 people, we traveled the very windy roads of St. Lucia, stopping at a banana plantation to taste "hot-off-the-bush" bananas - sweet and yummy. We also stopped in a local village where Sammy picked us up some delicious hot local bread. The sulfur springs were interesting, if not a bit smelly. It was fascinating to dip our hands in the creeks running with warm/hot water. And the botanical gardens were fantastic. Even the rain clouds couldn't put a damper on that visit. We had a wonderful day and got a good taste I think of what St. Lucia and it's friendly people are all about. My only recommendation would be to add an hour to the trip and allow a stop for lunch in a local restaurant. The trip was a bit long to not have a meal stop.
