Anse Marcel

The northern, French portion of St Maarten is less developed than the south, and its verdant hillsides make for a fascinating, constantly changing landscape as you travel along winding roads. And when those roads lead you to somewhere like Anse Marcel, it’s the cherry on the cake.

This beautiful protected cove is guarded by hills on each side, with one end of the white sand beach ending in a narrow channel leading to an even more enclosed marina. Anse Marcel's warm, shallow waters make it suitable for swimmers of all ages and abilities, and the more adventurous can hire jet skis. And while it’s relatively secluded, there’s a bar and a restaurant right on the beach and other eating places nearby.

Practical Info

Anse Marcel is located in a cove near St Maarten’s northern tip. There is a parking spot near the Radisson Hotel, and the beach is a short walk from there. The popular (and “clothes-optional”) Orient Beach is a short drive away on the east coast.
