One of the best tours I have ever been on. The speed boat is fun, the snorkeling was good, lunch was tasty and beers and sodas were cold and abundant. I would highly recommend this tour and would do it again in a heat beat.
This was a very interesting, informative fun day for us. We made many stops.
Highly disappointing. First, the walk from the ship to the meeting place was very strenuous for a level 1. A shuttle was available but not advertised so few knew to ask for it or use it. The guide was friendly and knew the history but the tour was not as promised. We were taken to a restaurant on the French side and told we could use the beach and chairs there. However, to do so we were required to purchase from an expensive menu and there was one broken toilet and no shower. Our stay was for barely an hour. The 'beach' was small and on a steep grade making it nearly impossible for anyone a bit elderly or with walking issues to be able to get into the water. We drove by the other areas described in the overview but never parked or directed as to where we might try some of the local fare, purchase items, or sample the 'local' drink. On the Dutch side, we paused at the beach by the airport for perhaps 30 mins. It was super crowded, no place to rent a chair and no guideance on where to go to purchase drinks or anything else. My main reason for taking the tour was for a 'sample' of the area and beach time. Very disappointed. The tour was suppose to be low level, limited walking etc. but if one wanted to see anything at the two beach stops, walking was required. Next time I'll stick with the cruise ships excursions. If you want to ride around for a couple of hours while the guide describes the area, this is the tour for you. If you want to interact with anyone local and experience the beach, forget it. This tour company should get their act together and make sure they provide what they advertise. Can't stress enough that this was not our guides fault. He even called to ask about the beach issue but was told that we were passed the area where we could have stopped that had more beach access and facilities.
I blew it completely. We were on Eastern time on the ship, and no one mentioned that the time in St. Maarten was different. It didn't occur to me to ask, so when we showed up for our 10:00 a.m. tour, we discovered that we'd missed the tour completely! Lesson learned. If I ever book a shore excursion through Viator in the future, I will be sure to ask the right questions.
My family and I have been to St Maarten many times and were a bit bored with the usual island driving tours. I was very fortunate to stumble across this tour online and thought I would give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. We were fortunate that we only had one other family with us so there was plenty of room to stretch out. The ship was great as was the crew. The sail up the coast was breath taking. The snorkling spot was alot of fun and the BBQ was delicious!!! I am so glad I stumbled onto this tour and my family and I will DEFINITELY do this tour again!!!

W e thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
This was the best shore excursion we have ever done. Great driving boat. Great snorkeling Fun
The tour surpassed my expectation. Our tour guide Will did an excellent job. He went extra miles in making sure he shows all the main attractions on the island. He allowed us ample time at each stop -- I did not feel rushed at all. This tour is highly recommended and make sure you ask for Will.
Many people say this was the best excursion ever and that is why I booked it, but it was not that exciting. You ride an inflatable jet-ski through the very rough ocean water for about 40 minutes. Then you come to a snorkeling spot (a rock out in the middle of the ocean) and snorkel for 20 minutes. After that, you get back on the jet-ski and go back to the port. There was no "rock 'n roll" part of this excursion. If you want to rent a jet-ski, this is a cheap option, but if you are looking for a fun experience, this is not it.
We had an awesome time on the boats and snorkeling! We had plenty of time on the mini boats and snorkeling. There were beautiful views of different parts of the island as we went on the boats and plenty of different types of fish (including an white eagle ray!) when we were snorkeling. The guide was really great - he even pulled out different sea creatures (urchins and starfish) from the bottom of the ocean and brought them up for us to view and hold. He passed out some refreshments before we headed back to shore which was really nice. One thing to watch out for, un-beknownst to the guide, they had overbooked our trip by one couple and didn't have the extra boat working/available (I know this books thru viator and cruise lines for the same tour). I would make sure you check-in with the desk across from the boats prior to coming down to check-in with the guide/get in your boat to ensure everything is all set, and get there 15 minutes early just in case these issues arise (though who knows how often they happen). Best excursion of our trip and the 10am tour isn't super early and gives you enough time to check out the rest of St. Maarten prior to returning to the ship. Enjoy!
The tour was very informative, gave us time to take pictures, use the restroom, do some shopping and get something to eat. I enjoyed the tour very much and would recommend anyone to do this. It gives you an overview of the whole island.
This was an excellent excursion in an air-conditioned mini-bus of about 25 passengers. We got to learn the history and see the sights of the Dutch and French sides of St. Maarten from a knowledgably driver. We took two stops of 10 minutes each, and two beach/shopping stops of 45 minutes each-- the one at the airport runway was crowded, but still exciting to see the planes come in so close overhead! The tour lasted about six hours total, about an hour more than advertised, and included pretty much the entire island. The only disappointment was that the tour did not take in downtown Phillipsburg, but that was easily remedied by taking the water taxi roundtrip from the cruise dock for an extra $7 and visiting downtown for another couple hours. We had about 8 hours in this port, so this excursion and water taxi combo made for a perfect day in St, Maarten!
Tour was interesting, as described, covering both sides of the island, Guide/driver was very good. Bus was small but comfortable, A/C running well. We could drink anything from the cooler for free (including beer and rum)
We started around 1 hour later since most of the other participants were too late, comparing to the time on the voucher and that should not happen since two of us were on time, wake up earlier and rushing to eat breakfast.
The boat was small. There was no instruction how to snorkel. The life vest that was available to wear did not fit my husband. There was no I formation about a weight limit for life vest sizes. It said the excursion was 10:00-2:00. We were back to shore by 1:00. This is not what the information said. Very disappointing. Would not recommend this trip.
