If you're taking a trip down to Saint Maarten in the Caribbean, you are probably only considering doing two things on your vacation getaway, relaxing and having fun. With tons of beach, some of which have optional clothing mandates, casinos, and plenty of resorts to keep you happy, it might be difficult to get motivated to try something else, but how about getting on a million dollar boat for a sailing adventure of a lifetime?
With the St. Maarten 12-Meter Challenge package, you join a regatta and become a part of the crew, as you guide your boat, tearing through the Caribbean waters. Get a taste for Yacht racing, with a detailed history of the sport, and training in your assigned crew position. If it feels like too much work, then feel free to simply get on the boat and enjoy an ice-cold beer as your crew breezes through gust of trade wind and blue clear waters. The tour also comes with some delicious fruit or rum punch and you take home a nice crew shirt so you can tell all your friends.
Well, there are only two ways to get onto the tiny island of St. Maarten, plane or boat. By plane there is Princess Juliana International Airport, which gets you onto the Dutch side of it. From the United States, you will have no problem finding a booking through a handful of carriers, though you will most likely be transferring once or twice.
Taking a cruise ship is your other option, where you will land in the port at Philipsburg, about a mile away from the central shopping area. Feel free to grab a water taxi or taxi cab, awaiting you out front.

It was well worthwhile, likely the best excursion we had on the entire trip.
